There will be an official emulator for POCKET PC systems?
By snout on May 22 2005, 16:45
Yup, there is... Project EGG offers several games using the official MSXPLAYer for PocketPC.
By spl on May 22 2005, 19:20
Ok, I didn't know. It is available for Europe?
By snout on May 22 2005, 19:22
Not yet, not yet ^_^
By karloch on May 22 2005, 22:15
I wonder... does all of this mean that we cannot use the emulator itself (as we could use fMSX) and it must be bundled with a game?
By snout on May 22 2005, 22:20
Yup, that is indeed the situation as it is. MSXPLAYer for Symbian Series 60 will only run games acquired at WOOMB.net, which will use a special file format of course.

Looks good. But I don’t like the Nokia 60s series phones, they’re too bulky . I’ll wait buying a new phone until there’s a slim UMTS one available ^_^. Although that Motorola V3 looks pretty good (but that’s not a Nokia ).

If I'm not mistaken, you could also run S60 apps on Symbian UIQ devices (like the Sony Ericsson P900 or the P910i. They're so great! But indeed, to your standards Grauw, they're bulky

Too bad I sold my Nokia Series 60 phone last month and bough a Windows Mobile based phone. I thought MSX Player would be released for it too... I'll have to wait and see if its released...

D-Tail, UIQ is based on Symbian OS like Series 60 but alas it is not compatible with Series 60. Meaning you cannot run Series 60 applications on UIQ and vice versa.

If you understand Dutch, this discussion is very interesting :

How would you know? You don't speak Dutch!
By mars2000you on May 24 2005, 21:10
qnd jij spreekt alleen Nederlands

hurrah for babelfish!

You should be surprised ... I don't need any translator to understand Dutch, only sometimes my 'woordenboek' for some words

But back on topic : I'm very glad to see that there are alternative opinions in the Netherlands and I'm happy to understand Dutch (don't forget that I was subscriber to the last MCCM number with the special double CD)
