Good news for Sokoban fans, a new MSX1 game has just been finished: Boxboy. It will be demonstrated on MSXRio'08. This Sokoban-style game has 150 levels divided into 6 worlds and all this in just 32kb! A video of the game is online right here!

Nice!

Also, I just uploaded a website for the game... including an online high score table, inspired by "Lotus F3"

Nice graphics

I found the graphics a bit "speccy", maybe the use of black to create shades (I'm more in the japanese way, solid colors )...

I like it anyway, it's a curious blend of styles

Love Soukoban games and this one looks promising!

About the levels, are they the ones included in BoxyBoy for TurboGraph/PC Engine or do they have a different origin?
By SLotman on April 29 2008, 19:29
Nope, I got the levels from various sources on the internet, some I made myself - I didnt even know a PC Engine version of Boxboy existed

This actually have nothing from Boxboy, except the name and a title/ending screen from the arcade, which I found to be very nice and with some retouching here and there could be converted to MSX's screen 2

Well, Slotman didn't come to MSXRio'08, so we don't know how is Boxboy yet... :-(

Unfortunaly I couldnt make it, since my computer's ATX power supply was burnt due to power surges, thanks to brazilian's power company "light"; So the money I had to go to the meeting, will have to be used to get a new PSU

But I told that in the MSX-RJ list two days before the meeting (the day my PSU died), so you already knew that, and knew that I wasnt going to make it
