| | Bussum 2007 - Registration opened |
| | Thursday, August 16, 2007 - 17:34 Submitted by: Grauw Topic: Fairs & Meetings | | Autumn has always been that time of the year when a large MSX fair was being held in The Netherlands. First there was the famous Zandvoort fair, nine years ago, the Zandvoort organization teamed up with TNI to continue this event in Bussum. Since 2002, TNI has taken the entire fair organization upon them.
Bussum is currently the biggest MSX fair in The Netherlands. Usually all the key-players in the Dutch MSX scene are present, as well as a respectable amount of foreigners. Our photoshoot section gives a good impression of the recent Bussum fairs.
This year's Bussum fair will be held on Saturday October the 6th, and including the former Zandvoort fairs this will be the 19th time it's being held! As of today, the organization has opened the booth registration procedure again!
The location is the same as last year: Social-Cultural Center Uitwijk, Bussum, which is right in the center of The Netherlands. It's short walk from the nearby train station and there's usually sufficient parking space for those who come by car. The fair will be open to visitors at 10:00 and it ends at 17:00, after which the MSX Marathon will commence.

| By FiXato on August 17 2007, 00:26 | Great
just signed up
not sure what I'll exactly be doing, but I'll figure that out when the time gets there ;p
The money goes to a good cause anyway ;p
btw, "after which the MSX Marathon will commence.", does that mean that the marathon has officially been approved? Or is this still uncertain, as is still shown on the website?

| By wolf_ on August 17 2007, 00:48 | I think that marathon thing belonged to the 2006 news.. not the 2007 news.

| By wolf_ on August 17 2007, 11:31 | An unrelated temporarily message, will be removed when ppl get mature:

| | |
| By hap on August 17 2007, 11:44 | this one might be removed too:

| | |
| By wolf_ on August 17 2007, 11:47 | That's actually a picture with style..

Nothing is as permanent as the temporary. (Hebrew proverb)
Indeed I do not think we can expect people to ever get mature.

| By Samor on August 18 2007, 15:34 | I was wondering what wolf_ was referring to in this case....
| | |
| By wolf_ on August 18 2007, 15:44 | The 1:1 'stealing' of MRC text on posse with the intention -as usual- to be annoying. Childish. (the text btw, which I spent quite some time on as the original submitted newspost by grauw was as little as what you could've read on the mailinglist, which is not a problem btw, that's what we're here for)
| | |
| By Samor on August 18 2007, 15:58 | ah, yes, I see... indeed, that's lame.
| | |
| By Repair-Bas on August 18 2007, 21:54 | Nice, same weekend as the retro-meeting in Schiedam.

| By tfh on August 19 2007, 14:51 | @Wolf,
Well, you can see who posted that newspost on MSXPosse. Did you expect something else?
Even if BiFiMSX thinks MRC screwed up, he would have had 2 options:
1. Stand above it
2. React childish
Untill now, he has constantly doing one of the above...

| By spl on August 19 2007, 17:50 | Can you please talk about the Bussum fair instead of opening and opening fights against other users?
| | |
| By Samor on August 19 2007, 19:04 | spl, I think often enough people try to just ignore such things, but I doubt that's always possible.
| | |
| By sunrise on August 20 2007, 22:29 | The date of the 6th of october was already known last year

How can you know what the intention was? Maybe it was a hint about something or just plain laziness.
And even if the intention was indeed to be annoying, why let him succeed in getting you annoyed when we should really be encouraging people to register for the fair?
| | |
| By wolf_ on August 23 2007, 21:05 | Don't worry, the intentions were perfectly clear. It's just that not everything happens in front of the camera..
And, well, being annoyed is too much honor, but enough to reply with that pic.

| By Prodatron on August 24 2007, 00:16 | Well, in any case, I am looking forward to visit the Bussum fair I guess, it will be a nice and interesting meeting includung the presentation of some new stuff.
| | |
| By Rikusu on August 25 2007, 03:05 | wolf_: it's obvious that it's hard to come up with such lovely prose as yours! Don't you find it a little bit understandable? I think it's just a compliment (or should I say a tribute?) for MRC (and you in particular)
| | |
| By DemonSeed on August 26 2007, 06:21 | Imitation can usually be interpreted as a big compliment!
For me, this only makes me more anxious about how fun the fair will be, and all the long-lost people to meet.
I wish it would take place tomorrow!
(might well be 'cause the last fair I visited was the one with Nishi having his speech in, what, 2001, 2002?)

| By manuel on August 27 2007, 09:02 | I'd like to see that list of participants updated though...
| | |
| By Grauw on August 27 2007, 20:20 | Well hm, these reactions aren’t really going in the direction I’d like them to . Whether or not Passion MSX copies the odd news message on msx.org is not related, and discussion belongs elsewhere (e.g. the forum). Let’s stay on topic ppl, and anticipate the fair here.
@Repair-Bas: I know, but I can’t do much about that. I announce the fair a few months in advance, and I get complaints that it’s too late and agendas are already full. I announce it a year in advance, and it’s not good either.
Anyway, the retro fair is on sunday (as I heard it), the MSX fair Bussum is on saturday, so it should technically not be a problem.
@Manuel: I updated the list.
@FiXato: Actually, I’m not sure yet. One of the reasons for announcing the fair early was so that we could get permission (which was the problem last year). But I will have to inform whether that permission was actually gotten (it should be). Unfortunately, the Uit-Wijk is currently closed for the summer vacation, so it’s a little hard to inquire and get confirmation, but I will try. For now you can assume that the MSX Marathon will last until sunday morning. Either way, nothing wrong with saying ‘the MSX Marathon will commence’, because either way there will be an MSX Marathon, it might just not last until sunday morning. ^_^
@Everyone: If you want to reserve a stand, please do so as soon as possible! Thanks .
Anyway, I hope it will be another fun fair again! See you next month!
