| By snout on May 16 2004, 21:41 | Hmmm.. that WHOOOOOOOOOOSH is quite annoying. Thank God the real thing lacks 'em ;P And..errr.. just to tease Wolfie a bit: this MWM also works with 512kB SRAM

| By karloch on May 16 2004, 22:10 | I agree with snout. If you make a "WUOOOOOOOOOOOSH-less" version, I will prefer it. Btw, amazing the quality that a Moonsound can get...

| By Grauw on May 16 2004, 22:12 | Whee I just got a MoonSound SRAM expansion at the Tilburg fair ^_^.

| By mars2000you on May 16 2004, 22:20 | This demo works perfectly in blueMSX ! Great music and good concept !
| | |
| By Bart on May 16 2004, 22:23 | Releasing songs with annoying sounds in it it just like releasing crippleware. It doens't fit you, Wolf, to release rubbish like this. Don't do it again please.
| | |
| By Abi on May 16 2004, 22:26 | why not the whole music as MP3 format??
i agree, Bart
| | |
| By mars2000you on May 16 2004, 22:34 | Run the demo in blueMSX and use the "Saving music" feature of the emulator !
You'll get a .wav file that you can convert into a .mp3 file !
| | |
| By wolf_ on May 16 2004, 23:35 | It's a teaser... I already discussed this with bifi/chao5 internally.. and releasing a full mp3 wasn't planned this time.. You might get ppl who say: "hey, why should I get more sram when I can listen the mp3's".That's why this one only has fragments. And the whooses ... well, another reason to get sram to get woosh-free music
| | |
| By wolf_ on May 16 2004, 23:39 | to add: basically I wouldn't mind releasing a full-quality mp3 at all, as long as it doesn't discourage ppl to get sram..
| | |
| By BiFi on May 17 2004, 08:54 | The full length song is about 6 minutes, people! And the WHOOOOOOOSH! sounds are just in this MP3 version, not it the original tune... Come on, what do you take us for?
| | |
| By msd on May 17 2004, 09:51 | Hmm replaying coral 2 with bluemsx is not very good, it makes a lot of errors.
| | |
| By wolf_ on May 17 2004, 09:57 | hm.. coral 2 .. a new opl4 testtune for emulators ?
| | |
| By Bart on May 17 2004, 14:04 | I agree a teaser should not be the whole song. But putting the woosh sounds in this teaser makes the song a lousy tune. It sucks! Wolf has a very high standard and I think this is a really bad move to make if you like to keep up quality. There's no quality in this teaser at all.

| By ro on May 17 2004, 14:14 | blablabla.... download the realthing and get over it (it's very common to use things like "whoosh" in preview samples.. )
bark, bark. awhoooooooohh.. snif snif, I smell wolfyturts!
| | |
| By cax on May 17 2004, 14:50 | wooosh woosh woosh :-)
| | |
| By wolf_ on May 17 2004, 15:19 | Don't put the focus on this teaser that much.. it's only a teaser -and not the entry!-.. , if I've time I could try to duck the wooshes a bit. I didn't save the project file of the teaser, so it's either a new teaser, a ducked teaser or no new teaser at all. Don't put this teaser in your daily winamp playlist.., it's not meant for that.. just listen to it once, make up your mind about upgrading to 640kb and c'est ca ..

| By Abi on May 17 2004, 15:40 | Yes wolf it's a nice song, my wife and kids say: "Hee is this from Dolfinarium (Harderwijk)?
So maybe you can it to Dolfinarium to show it there a promotion of MSX
The whole Corol2 demo fit's there
| | |
| By Abi on May 17 2004, 15:42 | this sounds better:

Hmm ... that's a little strange to read this as the blueMSX Moonsound emulation is based on the openMSX source ... maybe what you call errors is not errors in music emulation, but problems with DirectX ...

who said openMSX' OPL4 emulation is perfect? I heard wolf_ complaing a lot about the emulation. Envelopes, tremolo, vibrato and some technical stuff have to be improved before it can be called 'perfect' emulation.
| | |
| By mars2000you on May 17 2004, 18:21 | Ok, Moonsound emulation is not perfect but the post of msd is without any little precision.
I've just checked the problem of clicks or bad noises that can happen in blueMSX.
On my Athlon-MK6, with the default values, there are indeed clicks or bad noises.
But if i use SYNC 1ms and a sound buffer of 350ms, there's almost no more problem !
Now, if the problem is elsewhere, then it could be interesting to get more precision from msd.

Ooops ... I didn't have seen this post .
Thanks for the precision !
