Development - Cosmic Battle - developers wanted

A while ago Marison Eustáquio Lacerda Parreiras contacted us about a game he had been developing long time ago: Cosmic Battle. Unfortunately the game was never finished, despite the nice results. Marison is now looking for MSX developers who would like to help him to finish this game. The current version (which, unfortunately, lacks collision detection) is available in our downloads database.

It is already possible to play the game, but as there is no collision detection you cannot shoot enemies, and enemies cannot kill you. However, it's possible to control 2 ships at a time (Cosmic Battle is a 2 player game) using the cursor keys for the first player and E,S,C and F for the second player. Keys 1 to 6 show some effects already present in the game engine. If you like the game so far, and think you can help Marison out, please do contact him at marisonparreiras@ig.com.br

In which assembler was the .asm code written?

Bah, customized formats are annoying. People should remember to save as ASCII when distributing!

You could try WBASS2 and Compass, other than that I have no clue... :/

With meg2txt, you can convert from proprietary Mega Assembler format to plain text:

With txt2meg the inverse convertion is possible:

Sorry! I don't have see this post before.

Nowadays I have return to MSX coding. My defined mission is to finish the Cosmic Battle. Initially I will convert the .bin version to .rom, document and convert the sources.

Thanks for all in advance!

Wow! Great to see this game is going to be finished after all. Don't hesitate to ask questions or opinions in our forums, if needed. And: Good luck!
