Dahku - released

Games & Demos - Dahku - released

 Monday, November 07, 2005 - 23:25
 Submitted by: SaebaMSX
 Topic: Games & Demos

During the last Vintagenarios meeting (part of the BCN Party fair), there was a lot of MSX action. Not only were two interesting hardware projects announced, Dumas and new games with new soundchips, a new MSX game was released as well: Dahku by Kralizec.

This new smooth scrolling MSX platform game was released for a price of 15 euros. A promo of the game, released at the end of September, can be found on the Kralizec website. The game seems to be inspired by such classics as Usas, Bubble Bobble and Frantic. A review of the game (in Spanish) can already be found over here.

In the Netherlands, Kralizec games are being distributed by Bitwise. The game was also demonstrated during the Bussum 2005 MSX fair.

Hmm... was actually this new in the main website? I've checked several times and I did not see it... and now I come back again to check it and it disappears in less than 6 hours...

Is it that MSX is so "alive" lately to have so many "interesting" news?
By SaebaMSX on November 08 2005, 01:05
Very rare website! Now it appears...
By snout on November 08 2005, 01:05
It's magic! Just made a larger newspost out of it
By SaebaMSX on November 08 2005, 10:01
Well, great software productions should be always announced in this way. They deserve!
By Imanok on November 08 2005, 10:45
I agree with that
By warau on November 08 2005, 18:32
@SaebaMSX

Great Productions? Do you mean that kind of 'very important news' such as 'someone made a new great song for OPLx'?
By SaebaMSX on November 08 2005, 19:49
@warau

Yes, I was atonished because the new never arrived to be online! At least I could not see them... so I think (it's my view) that some news which are more "interesting" for the whole community should be more time visible than others.

For instance, new MSX games (complete productions) deserve to be some time more... we do not have that good quality products that often!!!

It's our policy to give the most interesting news the most attention, but I just hadn't noticed the Dahku post was too short to become a large newspost yet. Still, all this just means that there's a lot of MSX news to report about these days, which is essentially a good thing. Also, please keep in mind that if someone releases an OPLx song (as the example above), he probably will feel that news to be at least equally interesting as the Dahku news. It are tough choices, from time to time
By wolf_ on November 09 2005, 17:10
It's mainly the amount of newsposts that a single day can offer to a crowd who can perhaps only read MRC once a day orso.

2..3 is doable, but 7 on a day is a bit risky, would be better to stick with 2..3 and do the rest in the next days

Another option: every newspost being half-column, either by making a short newspost or by cutting the text and fully display it when the user clicks the newspost/reactions

And another option: a higher frontpage ^_^
By warau on November 09 2005, 22:56
..or a wider one.
What about using only a side column (left, perhaps)?
Some of the options could be rearranged in a sort of top menu or something.

Humm... my disk of Dakhu doesn't work I have written Ramones... now I am waiting for answer...
By Ramones on November 11 2005, 08:20
Hi, I'm Ramones (Armando) spl. Plese send me mail to : ramones@kurarizeku.net

About the disk ... it's strange. All disk was tested in MSX.

By SaebaMSX on November 11 2005, 09:48
Maybe is he using an emulator?
By Ramones on November 11 2005, 10:09
Hmm ... Dahku works in emulator ... but don't work in Windows. Windows can't read disk.

Kralizec make MSX games. No Windows games. But is possible that this disk have errors ... We are humans.
By SaebaMSX on November 11 2005, 16:35
I do normally assume that people using emulators use windows... and using windows use... well, whatever. ;-)

But yes, I meant that the disk was not working there.
