Hit the Penguin Flash game

MSX Related - Hit the Penguin Flash game

If you haven't seen your colleagues playing this game yet, this is your change. The game made by Laget is a simple Flash game where you are a Yeti. Aim of this game is to hit the penguin that jumps from a rock above you as hard as possible. The further your penguin flies or glides the more points you get. Good luck!

Hmm... I wonder how this is MSX related? ^^;
By BiFi on January 28 2004, 21:18
For one thing, I don't understand why this was posted, whether or not as being related.

Furthermore, I don't think it's smart posting about it, with animal wellfare protection and anything.

By snout on January 28 2004, 21:24
I had a great laugh playing the game. Ok, it's not MSX and barely related, but maybe someone would like to port this to MSX?
By Bart on January 28 2004, 22:06
1201.3 meters!!!!! WOHOOO!
By GuyveR800 on January 28 2004, 22:14
It's basically the same as Konami Hyper Sports' Hammer Throw event...

Besides, there's not even blood or anything. That's GOTTA be a rubber penguin...
By snout on January 28 2004, 22:24
and an incredibly powerful snowman
By GuyveR800 on January 28 2004, 23:03
The game was altered, before (last week) it was much more 'realistic'. Quite lame if you ask me...

Anyway... So anything involving a penguin is on-topic here? Just coz MRC's mascotte is a penguin? I'd call it MRC-related in stead of MSX-related then!
By Abi on January 28 2004, 23:10
WHEEEE 1212,9 MTR

By chaos on January 28 2004, 23:33
1215... who's gonna port this game?
could be nice for an MRC contest.. making such kind of games
By GuyveR800 on January 29 2004, 00:29
That snowfall game is of the same category...
By BiFi on January 29 2004, 08:04
1215.8 on the belly and 785.2 on the head.
By BiFi on January 29 2004, 08:05
792.1 on the head now
By cax on January 29 2004, 10:40
Hehe... the game was modified by some russian user of Live Journal
(look at the message on the stone: "lj-user parphenos was here"

In the original game you cannot get score bigger than 323.5, if I'm not mistaken.
By sander on January 29 2004, 13:01
This game was posted here for fun. Just as we posted about penguin mints and MSX the oyster disease. How this is related: well, thereīs this penguin starring in the game, and itīs fun. Probably a bridge to far, but who cares? Just have pfun.
By sander on January 29 2004, 13:03
1208 meters!
By Grauw on January 29 2004, 14:39
No, 323.4m was the maximum of the original, iirc. In any case, that one was much prettier (no ugly fullscreen shit either), and more realistic. To some extent .

Anyways, Guyver, I definately don't think it's a rubber penguin. It probably just has a really strong skin with a bit of fat under it, or something. After all, you can see the penguin getting ready to jump and actually jumping, which a rubber puppet wouldn't be able to. To be sure about the blood thing I guess we'd have to try with a real penguin. This by the way also invalidates the suggestion that the penguin was pushed over the edge against his will - if that were so, I don't see why it would willingly get ready to jump. In the contrary, he would probably be struggling or something

~Grauw (way too serious about this -_-;;...)

1214.2 LOL - great post btw, I had fun - changes from the usual MSX stuff...
By GuyveR800 on January 29 2004, 22:42
Sounds like you're saying the usual MSX stuff isn't fun at all!
By DarQ on January 29 2004, 23:33
awesome!!!!
By msxgamesbox on January 30 2004, 09:28
no of course not, I like (almost) anything MSX but thought for once it was nice to see something different that made me laugh...

By GuyveR800 on January 30 2004, 13:11
I was kidding ^^; It was supposed to make you laugh too
By sander on January 30 2004, 19:49
Funny, it turns out that this whole game was made as a parody with the penguin being the brand mascotte of the Danish candy maker Pingvin. (www.pingvin.com).
You can watch a funny advertisement here: http://www.pingvin.com/reklame/amagerstang_rigtig.mpg
