Knightmare Gold

Remakes - Knightmare Gold

Knightmare Gold is an MSX2 remake of Konami's classic Knightmare, originally released for MSX1 in 1986. Using the capabilities of the MSX2, the Knightmare gold remake adds multicolor sprites, the possibility to use the Knightmare Audio CD for BGM, different color settings and the famous double wave Konami logo as a bootscreen. The game will be released on a CD-ROM and will function as a patch to the original Knightmare ROM.

On the Knightmare Gold website you can find a lot of information on the project (in Portuguese), download MIDI and XM arrangements of the Knightmare songs and have a look at a screenshot of the loader of the game.

maybe WOLF could come up with some better tunes
where are the screenshots?

and what is that "midas loader" I keep seeing in the "news" section?
(MIDAS is the alias for the F-kernel released early 90'tz)

overall, I'm curious!

By wolf_ on September 15 2005, 15:54
wish I could.. haven't done much like that last months.. last editor I made was months ago, for the msxdev05 game..

*really wants to work on DML4
By BiFi on September 15 2005, 16:00
not another DML!
By iamweasel2 on September 15 2005, 16:18
Midas is a reference to the king that turned into gold everything he touched. The same thing that the Midas loader will do when he touchs the original rom.
By wolf_ on September 15 2005, 16:22
yesyes, another DML, this one should support floating-point values and effect/texture-plugins, as well as interpolation for better quality..

*needs to work on a new 4m as well ... *sigh* ... time ..

Some time in a near future (when I finish coding) I'll add an english version of the website.
About new tunes, there is already one guy working on new ones.
About Midas, in "Midas Loader", iamweasel2 is right. The Midas Loader is where all the "magic" happens.
About screenshots, they will be available soon... I'm finishing some changes and the position of some things may change a little... that's why no screen shot was posted.
Anyway, the number of screen shots will not be THAT large before the release. But after release I will put a fair amount of screen shots into "screenshots" section.

Well... I released a screen shot, showing some of the differences between original Knightmare and Knightmare Gold. The screen shots can be viewed at "Telas" section on the website. I plan to release an english version of the website in a near future, also. Stay tuned.
