La Abadía del Crimen for mobile phones

MSX Related - La Abadía del Crimen for mobile phones

The tremendously popular MSX game La Abadía del Crimen, programmed by Paco Menéndez with graphics made by Juan Delcán, is to be released for mobile phones at all the Spanish operators (Movistar, Amena and Vodafone Spain) in a J2ME version developed by the Spanish company eBrain/Play2me.

Previously, the game was already remade for MSX2 and translated to English by Manuel Pazos, which you can find over here and a remake for PC was released over here.

The mobile version of the game will use the graphics of the PC remake and features several improvements with respect to the original version, like several bugfixes, scrolling (in some versions), the possibility of saving several game states, speeding up the action of the game, different color palettes according to the hour of the day and place of the abbey, etc. Apart from that, the gameplay and plot is exactly the same as the original. The game even uses the original data from the MSX version of the game (isometric rooms, 2D maps, data arrays, etc...).

At the moment screenshots are not yet available, neither is it clear whether or not the game will be released outside Spain in an English version as well.

I can't post screenshots yet But checking the PC Remake you can see how it looks.
Also, I think the game will not be released outside Spain in a near future, although an English version can be made easily.

The newspost you submitted stated you work at the company that releases the game. Are you the brains behind this project? ^_^

Guillian - what have you got to do with this one?
By Guillian on October 28 2005, 16:21
Snout: You can download a video of "El Enigma de la Abadia" from here. As you can see it looks really GOOD That's why it is finalist of "Art Futura'05"
It is a new game based on "La Abadía del Crimen" and/or "The Name of the Rose".
