MEGA Challenge - 09. LEDA

Games & Demos - MEGA Challenge - 09. LEDA

Entry number nine for the MEGA Challenge comes from John Hassink (DemonSeed) and Paco Santos Ramirez (EVPON). LEDA is a vertical shooter like Aleste, but then in 64x48 pixels. Here, clearly the advantage of this particular challenge shows: multilayers! It's therefor a cute little shooter, supported by FM-PAC music. There was a brief demonstration of this game last week in Den Dolder, and now you get to play it yourself!

GREAT GAME DEMONSEED!! You have to port it to C and enlarge the window
I'm pretty sure it can work at the same frame rate in a 128x96 area.

Congrats! You made it! Finaly some sleep for you

Great gfx, great music!

@MRC guys: Where are those frickin' screenshots. Al those entries for the challenge feel a bit empty without a nice screenshot. That can' t be too hard to do.

Great parallax effect Fun game too. Would be cool to see it in screen 3

Great! I think also the same of the other three

Congrats, John & Paco! Lookin' good
By EVPON on June 30 2008, 12:06
Thank you to all. The merit is for John, he worked hard against the clock.

Much thanks for playing the game and for your kind reactions!

Unfortunately, LEDA was far from finished. Lots of things that were to be implemented didn't make it to the final cut.

In a later version which I really intend to make (especially if people would want to play it) I wish to include:

* More stages than just one (!)

* Graphics from Robert Vroemisse a.k.a. yum as well

* Storyline, visuals

* Sound effects

One of my goals being to learn how to properly program in C, to me the perspective drawn by ARTRAG sounds exciting and a splendid opportunity to get into it.

This is something that I really wished to see as outcome from this compo and now it is here. Big thanks!

At your service, dude.

BTW: Paco Santos Ramirez = EVPON

So, it has been 2 months and I wonder:
Which ones of you have managed to beat the game?

I understood people found the final boss to be extremely hard.
By Huey on August 27 2008, 16:18
I finished it on my second go...... It was waaaaay too easy.
By Huey on August 27 2008, 16:19
(Yes I'm a liar)
By DemonSeed on August 27 2008, 23:10
You know the cheats and still you need two goes?
