Today, the
MSX Association website was officially opened. On the website, there are some small corrections to the texts in MSX Magazine 2003. Also, a bug concerning the PocketPC version of
MSXPLAYer was reported. A fix can probably be downloaded from the website soon. There is already a patch available for the Windows version of
MSXPLAYer, which fixes installation problems. An interesting section on the web site contains information on the MSX Association itself. It explains the goal of the MSX Association: To gather and manage the copyrights of MSX, in order to be able to create new products based on this standard in the future.
Currently the activities of MSX Association focus on gathering the copyrights (there are still issues with Microsoft), developing and testing
MSXPLAYer, gathering technical data and licenses for distributing commercial software and getting articles on MSX in several kinds of media, including own publications. The chairman of MSX Association is Kazuhiko Nishi, the 'father' of MSX. He is helped by many volunteers, who actually created the
MSXPLAYer and MSX Magazine. The website also features a huge FAQ on
MSXPLAYer. Everything is Japanese-only as expected. The website is still under construction. We will let you know when more content is added.
