| | MSXdev05 finished entry: Saimazoom |
| | Tuesday, November 29, 2005 - 13:09 Submitted by: viejo_archivero Topic: Games & Demos | | With less than a month to go, the deadline of the MSXdev'05 contest is getting closer, so you can expect a bunch of new MSX games very soon. The first example is a new finished entry by Karoshi Corp., not previously announced. This game is Saimazoom, a frenzy old school adventure, originally released for spectrum in 1984 by Dinamic. In this completely reprogrammed and restyled remake of the well known spanish classic, you must guide Johny Jones in the hunt of some coffee sacks inside the depths of the jungle, where a lot of enemies and obstacles await him. Great and new colorful graphics and features giving a new look to this classic game from the golden age of spanish software. Go grab the 32kB ROM, DVD size cover, manual and ROM label at the MSXdev'05 status page, where you can check the status of all projects.

next time in English perhaps?
some sort of "map" might come in handy I reck'n
cheers mate!
| | |
| By viejo_archivero on November 30 2005, 13:31 | ro: It will be released in english too, but, as it is a remake of an spanish classic, we thought that in this case a spanish version was a must.

| By BiFi on November 30 2005, 14:11 | and maps... g00gl3?
| | |
| By Yukio on December 01 2005, 02:54 | Ok, only one question. With the 16KB RAM in a specific slot. Could some games have problems with sub-slots? Some MSX 1 could have expanded slots and a demonstration ROM.
Anyway, most of the time I only use a few bytes of the VRAM to store some characters and maybe some data. the 16KB VRAM would work just fine.

| By BiFi on December 01 2005, 07:27 | he already finished it?
what a freak
| | |
| By only_69 on December 01 2005, 13:20 | I am not a freak
Ok, maybe
It was a kind of a pact I made with viejo. To make the map.
BTW, Great game!! Very interesting!!
Vampier, I made the cheat and did not see you have already done. Sorry!!

| By only_69 on December 01 2005, 17:35 | Benoit,
We cannot do this in BlueMSX, can we??
About the water, there are two addresses but you just have to change one to make the water not decrease.
BTW, I do not read the openmsx forum

| By only_69 on December 01 2005, 17:38 | I talking abou the if instruction.
| | |
| By mars2000you on December 01 2005, 18:09 | the 'if' instruction does not exist in the blueMSX trainer. It's one of the things that should be added/improved in the future.
| | |
| By pitpan on December 01 2005, 19:51 | About the problem with RAM, do not worry: when the MSX is booted, the BIOS searches for RAM, at least on the third page (C000h onwards) and then boots the ROMs. Therefore: you do not need to look for RAM in that page because it is always there. Easy enough, isn't it?
| | |
| By Yukio on December 02 2005, 18:27 | Ok.

| | |
| By Yukio on December 02 2005, 18:28 | Maybe I could manage to use a 16 KB or 32 KB to hold the game.
Some fancy effect's!
What do you think? Is this possible without use much memory!?
By the way, I am waiting for the MEGARAM cartridge.
