Games & Demos - MSXdev'06 #03: Penguin Cafe

With the release of Traffic Jam still fresh in our minds, another non-listed entry enters the contest, and it is another finished one! So, prepare yourselves for another brand-new MSX game: Penguin Cafe!

In this funny game, we must try to guide our little penguin on his first day as a waiter. He must serve beer to his -famous- MSX clients, in a similar way of the classic game Tapper, but with an interesting twist, as you must take care of a power-meter in order to throw the beer to the exact place the client is! This is the very first time a french team enters an MSXdev contest. Thanks to the people from the ex-MSXcafé team now we can enjoy this new MSX game. Be sure to check it out!

Don't forget that if you are an MSX developer you still have nearly 2 months to finish your MSX game. You'll not only support the MSX platform by creating cool new games, but there are even a number of prizes you can win! Check the MSXdev'06 website for more details.

Nice game for the first French contribution in the MSXdev' history

The name of the game is the association between the nickname (Penguin) used by one of the MSX Café website's creators and the name of this website (MSX Café) that has become Passion MSX since one month.

Good Actually, I play a lot Tapper with the Coleco Emulator (remember that yes, there is a Coleco emu for MSX), but wow, I like this new game ^-^

Fun game Are the clients modelled after real MSX Cafe visitors?

Following this French website (made by MSXosaure, one of the 3 developers of this game) , the clients are inspired by heroes of well-known MSX games :

But as the first idea of the game was to make some promotion for the MSX Café website, you could also think about real users of this site that has become Passion MSX since one month.
