| | Thursday, December 21, 2006 - 23:59 Submitted by: snout Topic: Games & Demos | | Germán Gómez Herrera, developer of Skate Air, has submitted another entry to the MSXdev'06 competition, which - with 9 games released and 10 days to go until the deadline - is currently reaching its apotheosis. In his new game, Night City, you have to search for various objects in the city and return home in time. During your quest you will have to fight with several enemies, such as ghosts, rats and policemen.
With only 10 days left, it's safe to assume that more brand new MSX1 games are to be released in the upcoming days. In total, nine entries for the MSXdev'06 competition have been released by now. Thanks to MSXdev, the year 2006 will end in style!

Is it ok to do that? I think it's kind of unfair to the other games/developers, who took the time to draw everything from scratch...
Not that I'm complaining, just wanted to know if that is ok by the contest rules - I read them at MSXDev's site and couldnt figure if it was allowed or not

Yeah it is It took a while for me to get it to run too. You need to open the rom using the 'Cartridge->Insert' dialog and select the rom mapper: 'Konami Generic'. Then it will run. This rom mapper is like konami but without fixed page 0. Not sure what real cart to use to run it.

| By manuel on December 22 2006, 19:18 | Ah, it's a 64kB ROM with a Konami mapper (they don't exist). That confuses the romtype-guesser of openMSX which means you have to use explicit romtype specification, as AuroraMSX said.

NIGHTE.ROM: Konami Generic
NIGHT.ROM: ASCII8 (downloaded today from msxdev)
EN-NIGHT: ASCII8 (downloaded today from msxdev)
