Games & Demos - MSXdev'07 #02: Yahtzee

 Topic: Games & Demos

Daniel Vik, known for his refreshing MSX1 demos as well as being a BlueMSX developer, has just joined the MSXdev'07 contest with the second finished game: Yahtzee. This game was created by dvik in... 1986! The game has been recovered to be released today, 21 years after its creation! The concept of Yahtzee doesn't need any introduction anymore, enjoy this 16kB ROM!

updated with several add-ons

Actually there are no updates or addons. This is the 1986 version of the game. I just made a rom version of it (the original was made on tape).

This was in the submitted news, we shall now slap the messenger.. I assume you want it fixed?

ps. the add-ons are also mentioned on the msxdev page

It would be nice if it was corrected. I'm sure I can do a much better Yahtzee game today than I could 20 years ago, so it would be unfair to say that it is heavily improved.
I was thinking of changing the controls though because they aren't super intuitive but I didn't want to change the original so I kept it the way it was.

Well, nothing I can do about the msxdev page however ..

Looks good Btw, if I did the math correctly, 1986 would be 21 years ago (not that it matters though).

Omg, did mushrooms grown on your paella this evening, viejo?

Too much work, I guess . Sorry for the mistake, good to see it is now fixed!. Btw, thanxs dvik for your contribution!

I made a version back in '88 too . I still have the printed version of the basic source code somewhere.
