It's been a while since we've heard any MSXdev news, perhaps all these game developers were on holiday during the summer? Anyway, as the months keep going on, the deadline comes closer. While the deadline is in 2009, the final game developing months go faster than the first ones! It's autumn 2008 already, and the MSXdev'08 competition seems back on track with the announcement of the fourth entry: Tomb of Genghis Khan. Johny Jones, the hero from Saimazoom and Abu Simbel Profanation returns into a brand new platform adventure. This project is being developed by Impulse9, the creators of the MSXdev'07 game Italian Stallion.

With four months left, there is still enough time to start a reasonably sized game project. Joining this annual contest is nothing but fun, and certainly one of the highlights of each MSX year. If you feel you can create a game which can compete with entries you may have seen in earlier editions, or if you simply want to create a game for fun, without pretentions: join MSXdev'08!

What?! No reactions!

Don´t you like oldskool style platformers??!!

Nice looking oldies game!!!!!!!!!!

Looks just like 1985 Spectrum game!

But I guess that Johny and those creeps are sprites, like they were in Abu Simbel Profanation!

I´ll keep waitin´ this game!!

I hope that other people would program some oldies games too!

What I find most impressive is the active project list from Impulse9!

There is that suggestive 'number' (the triple dice number) on the link page ... Not everybody would be tempted to reply to something like this. Even if some people like MSX games.

Sure this type of thing should be observed into some compiler software too ... Suggestive names!!!
