The first finished entry is in! Italian MSXdev regular Andrea Gasparrini (AG Software) has just delivered the game Plumber. This game is a retro looking platformer made in BASIC. Watch out for the mice and the octopus to succeed. But make haste, as you are facing precious time ticking away. It's a 16KB ROM, complete with sources and instructions.

The sprites in this game look highly familiar.

I hope there will be more entries made in BASIC.
Makes me really nostalgic. I spend hours and hours typing and playing MSX games from magazines.

that's a good point... at least for ME, I really don't care if the author takes the graphics from another game... Of course, the author should inform that at the disclaimer as well as at least try to contact the original author...
Anyway, congrats for the game. I would really love more screenshots at the msxdev website. @ work I can't really download and try any roms! ;P

Nice basic game (colored and very old style), but some nasty bug disrupts the playability.
The man sometimes hangs when getting off the ladders and you cannot do anything else than wait to be killed.

So it's a bit like "Splash".
