Max Attar Feingold has sent us a collection of MSX software he developed under the name Illuminatus Software in the early 1990s. We have added these software titles to our ever growing downloads database. The following titles were added:
  • Asteroids de Argenta - A strategic game for multiple players, based on a board game
  • Computer Grapher - A function graphing program originally created to help with algebra and trigonometry homework
  • Computer Images - A classic tile re-arrangement puzzle game
  • Periodic Table - A rendition of the periodic table of the elements, complete with the name of each element and its atomic number and mass
  • Picture Graphics - A collection of twelve original images created using Philips Ease
  • Risk - An implementation of the well-known multi-player board game
  • Simon says - An implementation of the classic Simon says memory game, using four lights
  • Solitaire - an implementation of a chinese solitaire game in which the objective is to clear a clear a playing board of stones by having one jump over another until only one stone remains in the center
We have also improved our downloads corner, adding a 'unique downloads counter' for each download and allowing you to post reactions to each separate download.

In the MSX Resource Center downloads section you can now find more than 800 freeware downloads for your MSX computer system. If you have created (or know) freeware MSX software not yet available on our website, please contact us at downloads@msx.org.

Congrats on the downloads improvements! And thankyou Max Attar Feingold (mfeingol?) for releasing your stuff on MRC!

But err... it springs to mind, that the downloadscounter isn't exactly accurate. Now I'm nitpicking of course, but when I click a download (say, some random LZH), firefox will prompt me whether I'd like to download it, or open it. When I choose 'Cancel', it will still count as one download while I haven't received a single bit of it (alright then, except for the filename ).

* [D-Tail] switches his nitpicking mode off ^_^

Much better this way.

I guess it's impossible to make the difference between an full download and an cancelled download as even if you don't have yet started the saving on your harddisk, Firefox has already used his cache to start the download !

We need GameStats to tell if you actually ran the software ^_^

Am I the only one who has noticed the masonic signs everywhere in the games? I mean the pyramid, the latin sentences, the floating eye... Anyone? Any hidden meanings? Even the name "de Argenta" sounds familiar...

You must also know that Max Attar Feingold helped me some years ago for the 2 last screens of Skooter, a game with many philosophical messages !

Keep in mind that I was a teenager when I wrote this stuff. Way too much time on my hands to play with the draw function...
