| | Maze - First person maze demo by xl2s |
| | Sunday, October 31, 2004 - 21:15 Submitted by: snout Topic: Games & Demos | | GhostP of xl2s Entertainment released a demo version of a first person maze engine (similar to Wolf3D) for MSX. After a discussion on our forums on the subject, GhostP came up with this demo. You can walk around in the maze, slide and change color schemes. To make it even more interesting a bouncing ball bounces around in the maze itself. The game engine works on an ordinary MSX2, but a turboR is highly recommended.

:-)

| By DarQ on October 31 2004, 23:27 | with openmsx it looks very good. i'd like to see more of these things. and how about the source? or is it closed?
| | |
| By GhostP on November 01 2004, 12:34 | I would like to keep the source to myself for a while. The reason for that is that part of the code, especially the sprite part, is softly said useless in other concepts.

Btw, the dsk image I've downloaded in the upper link contains the files COMMAND.COM and MSXDOS.SYS... ¿these files are free to distribute, link, etc?... I've downloaded them from your homepage, just by clicking in the "Maze" link in the newpost...
Keep developing for MSX, but stop differences between developers, please. That COMMAND.COM and MSXDOS.SYS are probably copyrighted!!!

| By BiFi on November 02 2004, 08:08 | Dr. Nishi already stated in his lecture in Tilburg 2001 those two files may be freely distributed.

| By viejo_archivero on November 02 2004, 08:11 | Sorry for my misinformation. BiFi is just telling me these MSXDOS files are freely distributable.

| By viejo_archivero on November 02 2004, 11:33 | Well, tested it on NLMSX with the simpler MSX2 config, and runs quite well and speedy!. My question is: Do you think it is posible to port your code to MSX1? . Just for asking
