Micro Music 3.1 & MicroRip 0.01

Music - Micro Music 3.1 & MicroRip 0.01

 Topic: Music

New in the freeware MSX downloads section: Micro Music 3.1 a TSR that can play the music from several Microcabin games, such as the Xak series. The player doesn't come with the music itself, but with a new tool called MicroRip, which can extract the music from Microcabin games you own in order to play them with Micro Music.

*** UPDATE *** This archive was updated, and MicroRip now also includes the scripts for Xak2, Xak Gazzel, Big Strategy 2, Illusion City and Princess Maker.

Relevant link: Micro Music 3.1

Kinda strange Sonic didn't make a newspost himself.
By Sonic_aka_T on May 29 2005, 19:07
Maybe Sonic feels that would be like "HEY EVERYONE!!! LOOK WHAT I DID!!!!" Besides, I wouldn't exactly call this the MSX news of the year...
By Sonic_aka_T on May 29 2005, 19:09
Update coming today or tomorrow btw, with the scripts for Xak2, Gazzel, Big Strategy 2, Illusion City and Princess Maker. The last two (Fray and Tower of Cabin) may take a while, since I don't have Tower of Cabin nor Fray MSX2.

true... I thought the same way about Palette Editor with its release... It's not very correct to post about the first release yourself, but you can submit updates yourself...
By snout on May 29 2005, 22:09
well, there's nothing wrong with submitting a newspost or contact us to let us know about the products you created. in case of Sonic, the difference is that the news he submits instantly appears on the frontpage...

this program called MMP (msx music player) has the fray tracks in it and the tower of cabin ones.
They come in a packed bundle with the program I believe...
Dunno how it works or if it's of any help

By Sonic_aka_T on May 29 2005, 23:38
@poke: Thanks, but what I need is not so much the music data, but knowing on what sectors of the original disks the data is located. I've already found someone who's willing to help me out though, so no worries

heh, dunno anything technical about msx-es n e way,but I was quite fond of MMP...came in quite handy when doing
the airwaves msx episode.I remember it having a lot of microcabin stuff in it. Is there anything like the HVSID collection
on the msx? So not the games, just ripped tracks that you can play with something like KSS player? (for example)

By BiFi on May 30 2005, 10:39
MMP has not only the OPLL versions, but also the PSG versions of the tunes which speeds up the number of available tunes quite fast. All music in Micro Music is also available in there, but it's always fun to be able to play them on your real MSX.

I noticed this was downloaded a lot, so I guess at least some of you must have tried it... Did anyone have any trouble (as in songs not working properly) due to version differences?
