After several rounds of voting in our
MSX forum and a finale of several weeks on our frontpage it is high time to reveal what you, visitors of the MRC, considered to be the most important MSX news of 2006. After a massive amount of 891 unique votes, the news on the
One Chip MSX has turned up as the winner. With this new FPGA-based MSX computer being announced, available on order and (in Japan) released in one year, the result was to be anticipated.
One could argue, though, that this year there are three winners as the news on the spectacular multitasking, window-based
SymbOS for MSX and the exciting news that
Matra and Bitwise are to release MSX games on cartridge only were a few votes behind. The best conclusion one could make is that 2006 has been an amazing year for MSX, with a lot of new hardware, software, exciting competitions and even the long awaited One Chip MSX. With several interesting events happening in 2007 already, it looks like this 'upward spiral' is only to be prolonged this year. After 891 votes, the full results to the megapoll in which we asked '
