QBIQS - Quarth for MSX1

Games & Demos - QBIQS - Quarth for MSX1

Z80ST Software is working on a game for MSX1 called QBIQS which is based on Quarth, the well-known puzzle/action game released by Konami for MSX2 and other platforms in the late eighties/early nineties. QBIQS has a smooth scroll, much better than the one of Block Hole, a Quarth clone made by Zemina for MSX1 in 1990. You can watch a video of the current development stage of QBIQS on YouTube.

Pretty smooth scroll indeed! I guess it helps if you only need to scroll vertically (and there is not so much tile variation in the stuff that scrolls either, of course).

Great work! Beat that, Konami

Hi! I'm the coder of QBIQS

Of course there's also a 2p versus mode (not 2p cooperative mode) with smooth scroll independent for each player.

I will try to finish the game this year, hope you enjoy it!

Great job SapphiRe The game looks super smooth, I'm really looking forward to the final version. What are you planning for music? Something similar to Quarth or something new?

...something new... Actually I disabled the sound when saving the video

Funny thing, our OS, now called MIDAS (the F-Kernel), was first called "Qbios" as in Q for Quick

impressive video, seems like good playability so far. Add some good tunes and you're practically done delivering yet another great MSX game.

ro, you mean words QBIOS and QBIQS look similar too much ?
Well, on the first sight I thought QBIQS has to do something with BIOS
Only on the second one I pronounced it as "cubics".

ahahah, I read wrong. darn. okay, cubics it is.
