SG-1000 re-convertions

Games & Demos - SG-1000 re-convertions

 Friday, November 14, 2008 - 00:14
 Submitted by: SLotman
 Topic: Games & Demos

Celebrating ICON Game's victory on SBGames Independent Game Festival, two re-convertions from SG-1000 were just released! The first one is Three Dragon Story, a knightmare style game, with several improvements:
  • new intro screen
  • adapted cool colors on MSX2 or higher
  • correct timing on MSXs with turbo
  • cheat mode
  • removed the annoying screen blinking on last stage
Also, if you want to see the game how it is, just hold SELECT while the game loads. This game will probably be released on Shockware.

The second game is Dr.Hello, a Dr. Mario clone. Both games can be downloaded at The MSX Files.

you deserved the PRIZE.
congratulation.
good job.
well done, you saved scot.
but please, remove msxfiles link, as the site has WAREZ, like metal gear 1,2, gradius and many others for download, and this games are copyrighted and available for the psx.
By thinlizzy on November 14 2008, 04:10
hmm I can see the msxfiles site has konami msx games for download

what about msx.org policies? please, remove the link. we have to be correct! the msx world needs honesty
By viejo_archivero on November 14 2008, 06:29
Good job, SLotman!!!! , I'll keep on waiting for the shockware version!
By muffie on November 14 2008, 14:10
You have 7 days to release the ROM version of Dr. Hello, otherwise you'll force me to convert it!!
By spl on November 14 2008, 16:12
Congratulations, Slotman!
By lionelritchie on November 14 2008, 20:22
Muóóóó.
Seven days...
By wolf_ on November 14 2008, 23:51
Did a phone ring or what?
By lionelritchie on November 15 2008, 17:28
6 days...
and the boy removed an annoying bug that was a feature of the game
By muffie on November 16 2008, 04:04
Cheat mode... press the [HIDDEN, not going to tell it!] key to activate it, and get infinite shots, all weapons, infinite armor...

Please remove the above sentence about your conversion.
IT IS NOT TRUE! You just missed three weapons!

*PLUS* your timings at the title screen are wrong. Takes too much time at the title screen before showing the automatic action
By muffie on November 17 2008, 02:07
Ohh, and without the

"removed the annoying screen blinking on last stage"

You can't see the black ghosts!

By muffie on November 17 2008, 12:59
Hmmm, we reported a download of my ROM from your IP...
Should I include a checksum on my release to prevent it to be modified with a "C) Icon Games" on the title screen?
By wolf_ on November 17 2008, 13:23
muffie: enough now! A bit of a healthy race or competition between 2 developers can be all nice, but let's stick to that: a healthy competition (and I'm not sure whether SLotman sees things here as a competition anyway). So, I suggest you just code on, and try to impress with your own merits, rather than trying to 'win' the competition by ridiculing and/or annoying your opponent.

Si?
By thinlizzy on November 17 2008, 13:52
what? is criticism forbidden here?

By wolf_ on November 17 2008, 14:01
No, I'm merely conducting the discussion (the obvious muffie vs SLotman situation) to remain within reason, to prevent situations no-one's waiting for. So again: let their creative output do the talking instead.
By lionelritchie on November 17 2008, 21:50
slotman downloaded muffies rom!
soon he will make a nice "conversion" consisting in adding "c) icon games" to it!

squeal!
squeal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By manuel on November 17 2008, 22:46
Come on guys, grow up! I know you guys can do a lot better than fighting... Look at all the nice coding results!
By Huey on November 18 2008, 08:39
Sigh

By lionelritchie on November 18 2008, 20:46
typical of a warez site owner
By LeandroCorreia on November 18 2008, 23:34
I hope that either Slotman or Muffie starts creating a new game for MSX. Since they hate them themselves, they'll start to compete and we'll soon have dozens of new games.

I Finally had the chance to test the other version of Jungle Hunt... and I could tell that the other guy included some really nice features:

* removed the annoying player start-up music on Jungle Hunt
* removed the annoying scroll smoothness when jumping from one rope to another in Jungle Hunt

1) When you press the start keys (1,2,3...) player is with his arm up waiting for the game to start. To all owners of bitwise cartridge: Originally there's a music there!!
2) When you jump from one rope to another, that slowdown on the game IS NOT NORMAL! The more recent conversion does not have that bug neither the original coleco version...

Bitwise should recall all owners to offer a free change of the ROM file inside the carts...

By lionelritchie on December 05 2008, 21:09
why recall?
they dont really play it, do they?
its just for collecting.
