Games & Demos - The Lost World for Moonsound available in Oss

 Submitted by: BiFi
 Topic: Games & Demos

In 1998 Sunrise for MSX released The Lost World by UMAX. At that moment no Moonsound support was available. After 4 years the first discussions about it were started and the musicians were contacted to make Moonsound versions of the music. Some of the tunes were converted by the original composers. For the remaining tunes former TeddyWareZ coder (and currently Infinite coder) Frederik Boelens (also known as Chaos) were contacted. Eventually all tunes had Moonsound versions and the time had come to implement the music in the game. Now, after 6 years, The Lost World for Moonsound is finished and Sunrise will release this version at the MSX Fair Oss 2005.

People who previously bought The Lost World can get their disks swapped on the fair.

...probably not as always
By BiFi on January 22 2005, 17:50
Well, you could drop Rob a mail for disk images.
By Abi on January 22 2005, 21:16
Thx Rob
WOW it's realy nice to hear Moonsound now while playing!!
By DarQ on January 22 2005, 21:46
well i could mail him because i'd like to hear it
though the last time he wouldnt mail me.. obvious since i cannot prove to him that i own it legally
By Abi on January 22 2005, 22:07
yes that's the problem to get the update version (full version) you have to give Sunrise your old version and chege it for a new copy.
Maybe you can send your original disk to them so they can send you the new updated TLW?
Try to send them a mail i am sure they will react as soon as possible to help you!
By Grauw on January 22 2005, 23:20
Make a photograph of your original disks and send it, I'm sure Rob'll believe you.

hmm, i could scan them...
worth to try
By Grauw on January 23 2005, 02:47
Or maybe someone could devise a patch, which can only be run against an original TLW disk.
By DarQ on January 23 2005, 13:22
please no, even after sending my disks to sunrise (years ago). i still have broken disks. patching a broken disk is not such a good idea...

By ro on January 24 2005, 10:16

By Imanok on January 24 2005, 12:16

By snout on January 24 2005, 12:39
And euhm.... how does it sound? Does it add to the atmosphere of the game?
By sunrise on January 24 2005, 13:06
You can test that if you have one ...
By Imanok on January 24 2005, 14:44
My address -> fernandezdav AT yahoo DOT es

Thanks a lot!
By robertwilting on January 24 2005, 17:31
And while your at it. I'm also interested in the moonsound version so could you please email the diskimages also to wiltingr AT yahoo.co.uk

Just for reference: The manual mentions the Moonsound music update on page 19 and gives 2 options on how to get it. If you want more proof then ask for it.

ahum
hehe
By Grauw on January 25 2005, 01:45
I tried it, of course , and it sounds pretty good!

I like it already . Maybe I'll even re-play TLW... Now I have two copies of it, my little brother can play the FM-version on his MSX while I simultaneously play the MoonSound version on mine! (although I could already do that as the game is HD-installable) ^_^
