| | Woody Poco translation released |
| | Sunday, November 29, 2009 - 22:23 Submitted by: hap Topic: Translations | | Today's the day hardcore Woody Poco fans such as Hydragon have been waiting for. Not long after the announcement a few days ago, the translation by Tsunami, Max Iwamoto, with a bit of help from Vampier, is done. Like their previous translation, it's very polished, and contains a couple of bugfixes and features not available in the original game, notably: - Created a variable width lowercase font and the means to display texts that span more than one text window.
- Completely recoded keyword system. Now all keywords can use English letters and numbers.
- Added support for (FM-)PAC SRAM.
- Added a feature to enable or disable the R800 mode on MSX Turbo-R computers.
- Added a special password as was intended to be in the game.
- Added Dedicated ROM Loader for English translation of Woody Poco.
- Optional +3 trainer patch.
To be able to play this translation, apply the IPS patch to the Japanese ROM. Some emulators, like openMSX, allow you to skip this step through soft-patching. Be sure to read the included documentation for background information on this translation. Enjoy!

| By jujuba on December 02 2009, 16:14 | SLotman, where are you?
| | |
| By Randam on December 03 2009, 07:54 | @jujuba: Max did put a link to SLotman's website if that is what you are referring to. If he doesn't think that is enough, I hope he'll let us know what he wants to be changed.

| By jujuba on December 03 2009, 12:26 | So, now I get it...
SLotman's "THE" MSX Files is really different from Max' MSX Files.
Such a giant difference...
Toma, gringaiada!

| By Randam on December 03 2009, 20:07 | Yeah, it's an unfortunate similarity... Max had that Url lying around. Slotman's site is a play on the X-files; max' is just about some files for MSX. Perhaps there'd be less confusion if the link label would read something else, like for instance MSX translations?

| By cidra on December 03 2009, 22:58 | Yes, or something really silly, like MSX Fyles, MSX Filles, MSX Filex, MSX Filez, MSX seliF and so on...
Is this something to actually care about, anyway?
Unless SLotman cares, of course...
| | |
| By SLotman on December 08 2009, 19:05 | Well, it is at least unfortunate to have two websites with the same name... not to mention the confusion.
Just imagine: some newbie comes here and ask for Shalom translated, and someone mention it is on MSX Files, but doesnt post any URL. Or someone asks for Woody Pocco, no URL either, and the guy goes to my site, look a lot for it, can't find it...
I don't mind the actual URL, but the site could have a different name just to avoid confusion.

| By Edwin on December 08 2009, 21:43 | The solution is obvious. Merge!

| By Randam on December 20 2009, 21:03 | Max has taken up your suggestion, SLotman. The name of the website has been changed.
