Ymixer is an hardware modification of the popular YM2149 most MSX users have come to know as the PSG. With this modification, the following features are added: - ym channel mixer
- individual mute switch
- panning (stereo pot for all channels)
- voltage controlled filtering (lp, bp, hp)
- analog switch selector for ym to vcf mode
- sound effect circuit (also used for control voltage)
More information on this interesting hardware mod can be found on the Ymixer website

| By BiFi on July 11 2005, 07:41 | Source: #msxdev @ Rizon
| | |
| By snout on July 11 2005, 10:51 | ... who probably got the information from somewhere else as well. Wolf_ told the MRC about it, that's all that matters rite here. Get a grip, BiFi.
| | |
| By BiFi on July 11 2005, 11:12 | ... credit where credit's due...
| | |
| By Bart on July 11 2005, 11:43 | What are you babbling about? Wolf got his credz right?
| | |
| By BiFi on July 11 2005, 12:21 | if wolf came up with this, yes... but he didn't...
| | |
| By wolf_ on July 11 2005, 12:21 | What he means is that the link came from #msxdev ... but since I was chatting with various ppl at the same time (incl. some C64 ones on another IRC channel, and some others on MSN) I randomly posted this link to some of those ppl. (just as I always do with random news, funny pictures, interesting articles etc. etc.) The C64 ppl weren't very impressed as usual, stating that teh SID already has filters since the stoneage. Anyway, one of them chat-ppl was Snout on MSN who suddenly decided it was newspost-worthy.. So blame Snout if he, nittpicker as he always is in the middle of the night while typing/checking other articles, didn't ask me where *I* got that link from.
It's amazing to see how every futile detail grows to an issue like this.. yesyesyes, the world needs more ppl to check on news-sources all day long!
If we're being picky on credits: not #msxdev was the source, but Vortextion, who pasted the link @ IRC .. ofcourse, perhaps Vortextion got the link from someone else as well, perhaps we should investigate his whole history to find the real starting-point of this earth-shuddering news..
| | |
| By Bart on July 11 2005, 12:27 | I think we should Wolf, could you please go and ask Vortextion where he got the link from? I just hope we don't end up with google as source...
| | |
| By wolf_ on July 11 2005, 12:28 | btw, typo: it's "Vortexion" .. just to have the source right eh ^_^
| | |
| By snout on July 11 2005, 12:33 | I think Vortexion's sources might eventually very well lead back to this peculiar website. Scary, huh?
| | |
| By BiFi on July 11 2005, 12:53 | When someone posts a message on the MSX Mailinglist, not that person, but the MSX Mailinglist is referred to as Source. So when someone posts a message at #msxdev @ Rizon IRC, it should be credited likewise.
| | |
| By Bart on July 11 2005, 13:36 | That's true when we grab the news from the mailinglist or #msxdev directly. But we have never, and I doubt we ever will, verified which source was used by someone who submitted news. Therefore if we don't grab the news ourselves directly from a website, or irc channel for that matter, we tend to credit the one who submitted the news. You know that ofcourse, as you keep a very close eye on MRC, but I hope this refreshes your memory a bit.
Anyway, if you're still upset please submit the news yourself next time and mention #msxdev as source. We'll happily post about it, including the mentioning of that source.. Mmmkay?
| | |
| By wolf_ on July 11 2005, 13:59 | Since this is all purely about subliminal advertising, I suggest posting Vortexion's email/snail-adres as well, so ppl know how to reach him.

| By poke-1,170 on July 12 2005, 23:35 | and on that note, christian studach is the real source...end of line..see he even hid an msx for the fun of it !
| | |
| By poke-1,170 on July 12 2005, 23:45 | you'd almost forget what the news was about with this thread some people should become copywriters here
| | |
| By BodyHammeR on July 13 2005, 16:41 | @poke: Nice to see stu involved in this
but the change of picture somewhat kills off the point of my original post
| | |
| By poke-1,170 on July 13 2005, 18:07 | hehe yeah he told me he couldn't resist
a dedicated man,stu...his YM mixes are nice,so are his own tracks... (as part of YM rockers)
