For the seventh time, Manuel invites you to visit his Nijmegen fair. The fair, which started as a replacement for the Oss fairs, is now the only MSX fair left in The Netherlands. Typically, clubs and individuals are present at this fair to sell you software and/or hardware, to repair hardware, tell you about their clubs and meetings, and demonstrate any developments such as utilities, emulators and games. For those clubs and individuals, registration has been opened as of today.
Traditionally, the openMSX team is the first one to claim their space. This year they will be demonstrating their upcoming openMSX 0.8.2. In earlier years some big features graced all new openMSX releases, such as multichannel audio recording, laserdisc support, reverse, and savestates. So far, such big features aren't scheduled for 0.8.2, instead a lot of smaller additions will be presented. To name just three of them:
- Added horizontal stretch for SDL renderer (useful for Dingoo for instance)
- Sync sound to EmuTime (greatly improves sample playback in e.g. Real Motion and TRAX Player)
- Baby Dinosaur Dooly support
The other Nijmegen tradition is the Chinese restaurant at the end of the day. Every year it's a cosy get-together with some of the stand holders and visitors, and by now it's a group of people who know eachother quite well. Nonetheless, new MSX people are of course more than welcome. To make sure the restaurant doesn't collapse, like it nearly did with the massive amount of visitors from 2008, there's a limit set to 35 persons. Register yourself if you want to participate!
The address: Wijkcentrum Hatert, Couwenbergstraat 22, 6535 RZ Nijmegen, The Netherlands. The place is open to visitors from 10:00 to 17:00, January 21st 2012.
