suggestions for forum behaviour & email notifications

Hi,

while I think you do a great job running this forum, and it looks good, and seems to work fine with quite alot of browsers, there are some small things I miss from other forums:

- email notifications are being sent over and over again; most forums send it only once for each topic, until you have visited the forum again, this is anoying and spammy
- not possible to subscribe on individual threads, meaning I either get mails for everything or nothing within a forum area
- it would be interesting that if you make a post in a thread, you get a checkbox to enable email notifications for that particular thread
- if you reply to a thread, you loose the context, unless you do a quick reply, but that edit box is way to small to make a desent post most of the time; some forums display the mail or thread you reply to also in the post editor

And now it changed to HTML only mails.... bye bye subscriptions...

Hey, HTML mail is done on purpose - in order to show cyrillics in readable form.
But maybe it should be configurable from user account settings...

andete - so just because the mails changed from plain txt to HTML you don't like the notifications anymore? Yaiks Either way, I'm working on quite a few tweaks, optimizations, bugfixes and small new features (I don't have the time to do 'big stuff' atm), and have some ideas on making the forum notification system a lot nicer.. dunno if I can implement it soon tho...
