I thought I'd make myself usefull and started addding some information to the Wiki and was missing the following: a "software information box". There is a group-info box, were you can leave information on groups, members, dates, sites, etc... It would be nice to have something simmilar for software, containig stuff like "released by, release date, hardware needed, type of software, link to site, link to youtube, etc...)
Maybe it's there already, but I haven't found it (yet). If it's note there, maybe it's an idea to create it?

IMHO Generation MSX does this already so well that making a similar Wiki is kind of pointless... Although Generation MSX is not perfect and can not be edited directly by users, it would take years to even get close to the >3500 titles that are already in there. I suggest that we support Generation MSX instead.

Despite promises and good intentions twice, Generation MSX has decided not to connect to MSX.ORG ;(. So I don't think it's fair to restrict our wiki now to certain subjects. True, it will take years to have the same amount of data but we're here already for 15 years and probably also  the next 15 years ;).

It's all in the figures. Adding 10 game pages isn't bad, 100 is still doable (also depending on how many people are participating), but adding the thousands of GenMSX manually is just insane. Unless you'll restrict yourself to the leading companies such as Konami, Micro Cabin and Compile. Still, it'd all be double work, no?

My primary focus isn't on those games anyway. I rather spend all those efforts in mapping the MSX-scene - which is growing well! Now, if more vintage scene people could dive into the past and write a bit about the obscure people I've never heard of.. would make Santa happy!

And also know that Jorrith did already quite some work on our database model. I did all the design to facilitate the GenMSX data and Jorrith perfected this. So were all quite disappointed.

Euh... I wasn't talking about games. I was adding information about Fony Demodisk #1, and was planning to add some information regarding SCC-Musixx & Protracker and thought it would be usefull to add some basic information using a standard template with certain information, just like with the "group info box" template.

Care to elaborate on what you have in mind?

Well, I think I mentioned this already in the first message? But more or less:

* Released by -> Group name
* Release date ->
* Software type -> Utility/game/demo/etc...
* Media -> tape, disk, cart, etc..
* Required hardware -> MSX1,2,2+, amount of (V)RAM, SCC/MSX-AUDIO
* Optional hardware -> ??
* Link on the WEB:

Something like that... With the same kind of template as the group info box.
