Since this is off topic to the msx i posted it on off topic scetion.
Reason i ask in this forum is that probably someone could have the answer.
I have a spectrum +3 ,upon opening the drive to change the belt a very small golden pin was out of the drive, and i lost it,now i can read disks but cannot write data.Does anyone know how can i fix it ,i think it is called the protection write pin?

http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum/showthread.php?23774-Sinclair-Spectrum-3-drive-problem here it says

""The pin you want looks like a nail - ie, it has a head.
Length is 10mm, thickness is 1.15mm and the head is 2.98 mm. "

Is it fixable?
Thank you

Such a pin is extremely difficult to obtain unless you have $$$$$ equipment (or luck finding it on ebay). Why not trying to find out what the pin was actually doing. Does it press a switch?

If that is the case why not shorting that particular switch making your drive permanently write enabled.
