I got first MSX early 80s when I was 8 years and I had it until I was about 14 when my father convinced my PC was better. I didn't believe that, so I got an Amiga with a PC card instead.

Over the years I became more interested in embedded dev and I got more and more appalled by the worthless software running on PCs; millions of lines of code and a bunch of gigahertz, and how much 'better' is it really than that old MSX? Besides the hardware control and mobility, I'm not *that* much more productive. I like games ,but i've never been a sucker for graphics much - better graphics usually do not bode well for the game experience.

So last year I started buying MSX-2 machines; my goal was getting 10 of them so kill one when soldering would not be very painful Smile I have 12 now instead because some ~ E20 deals I couldn't leave alone... Besides wanting a Turbo-R (but not for E500 Smile I have everything I need. I'm building hardware + software and I want to understand how to interface more complex hardware myself. It's a lot of fun and I plan to do a lot more of it over the coming years!
