I'll quote the e-mail Delta Soft sent me:

"After the release of Sorcerian it seems it doesn't work on a Philips NMS 8245. Apparently Sorcerian has problems with some Philips computers. Sony and other brand of MSX computers don't experience these problems.

There are 2 possible solutions to work around this:

  • Put an MSX-DOS 2.20 in one of the slots. It is unknown why it does work with it.
  • Put more memory in you NMS 8245 using an external memory mapper.

Strange enough the original game of Falcom doesn't work that well on a Philips NMS 8245, so it doesn't have to do anything with our translation.

Yups, that's correct. The original version has the same problems. On a non-Philips computer there are no problems, but it freezes sometimes when using a Philips. A Sony works fine, a Turbo R works fine as well.

When inserting DOS2, however, the graphics will appear corrupted. The computer won't freeze, but it's neither fun playing the game with corrupted graphics. At least, this was so in my experience.

Maybe there's a coder/debugger somewhere able to solve this inconvenient problem?

Rieks.
