Hey, it might be a nice idea to discuss game trivia stuff!

Like, what I've been wondering about for ages: doesn't the image of Big Boss in Solid Snake look an awful lot like Sean Connery? Or is this just an amazing coincidence?

And what's up with the "unreachable room" in the Maze of Galious? Is this just another Konami joke that adds up to the game's mystery? Or is there more to it?

And there's more:

Roy Campbell -> Colonel Trautman (Rambo films)
Solid Snake -> Michael Dudikoff -> http://members1.chello.nl/~p.lankreyer/dudikoff/index.htm

and what about:

nemesis2, first world (with the statues), the music is based on the star wars music.. a little souped-up here, in terms of notes, but the base is star wars.

I always thought Solid Snake looked a lot like Mel Gibson in MG2

And of course Pettrovich -> Albert Einstein

What i remember is it took us about ten years before we knew the whereabouts of the dagger in MoG... Isn't that great?

Yeah, that's one of Konami's greatest qualities as a game designer: their games keep you wondering for years to come. That's just great gameplay!

Actually Solid Snake was based on actor Michael Biehn (in MG1). The image of Snake on the cover of the MSX game is a literal draw-over from Biehn playing Kyle Reese in Terminator 1. I always thought they looked alike, not knowing that that was no coincedence

It was not just the dagger. Also the sabre and the vase gave many people a hard time to find.

The sabre wasn't very hard, but one of the hardest things around. I think no MoG player ever found the vase and the dagger. It's just too complicated. I am sure the information was just leaked by Konami itself. I heard the solution from Sean Young, who heard it from Ada So, who read it in a Japanese MSX magazine... I really wouldn't be surprised if some (former?) Konami employee submitted the hints... I can't imagine that anyone found it by himself!
