Guys, I've been checking around but could not find what I want
(I did find something, but too expensive)
Is there a GFX cart for PC where you could plug in your MSX video signal (either Composite or S-video) and have MSX output on your PC monitor (in window or whatever)
This dude at Norrod (local pc store) sold me a Pinnacle-studio DC 10+ cart (video editing thingy) but it works like crap... it doesn't work at all.
I believe there must be a cheaper solution, any one??
thanx. ro
(yeah, I still ain't got no scart-monitor.... so I have to find a solution. The TV is not near my desk ..so know you understand why)

I kinda sort of might have a spare 'DISPL' upscan convertor
converts any Japanese (!) RGB SCART to nice and sweet 640x480 VGA.

Now this is EXACTLY what I'm looking for.
The VGA boxes all have composite video (very lame, color bleeds etc) and some have super-video, but I've tested that on from turbo R to my TV and got only Black'n white so I'll be carefull with that.
I need RGB to VGA (best result) it should be japanese, it came with my turbo!
Hmm, where did ya get it? or how much for that doggy in the window snout?
thanx a bunch |

I imported one from Japan. Nice material I have to check something about my tR/GFX9000 first before I'm sure whether or not I'll sell this thing.
If the displ already follow up, check her big big big big sister : the XRGB-2+ |

thaz okay, I'll go and get me a VGA box tomorrow and check that out first (hell, only costst around 45 euros, well worth the try)
If I'm still not satisfied I might wanna buy the damn converter from you!
thanx dudes, as always.. thanx.
(still it would be nifty to have some sort of realtime capture cart so I can make nifty Screen shots!!)

I use a capture card and works ok. I can use my msx in the pc monitor, in window or full screen mode. It is possible to capture videos also |

Guillian,
Pretty please tell us more. What card? what connections? etc.
Got some example screen shots, so I can see how it looks like on screen? is it worth any thing?
I've been fiddling around with a Pinnacle cart yesterday, and did get zip, nothing, nada, ziltch, zero. Very frustrating. And the studio software (came with the cart) crashed all of the time. Downloaded some other capture software, same shit.
I've seen this particular cart from the Trust company where you have 4 composite video in ports, for surveilance cameras. This might be something I need, still investigating.
Concerning the VGA boxes; they are dead wrong CRAP.
Check internet, read a few reviews, been to the store got the same story: they suck.
Well, no VGA box for me (every one told me better to stick to TV which gives better result than VGA boxes)
Maybe I need an oldfashioned RGB-scrat monitor again... sight.

I'm using the composite input of a Hauppauge TV card (WinTV Theatre). It works well, picture quality is OK, but not really sharp. Since this card generally has decent picture quality, I think it's a limitation of composite video, which is always a bit blurry, amplified by a very accurate PC monitor (TFT panel). The TV card has S-video input as well, which I haven't tested, but it does not have RGB input.
Some VGA cards have video input as well, but that may be a bit expensive, unless you were planning to buy a new GFX card / new PC anyway.
