Any tips regarding running MicroCabin games(Xak series, Fray, Illusion City etc) from HD? I'd like to start playing some of them again, but disk access is soooo sloow...

And all FD-emulators I've tried sofar, failed...

I was thinking of the possibility, using the turboR's DRAM mode, to actually "patch" the DiskROM to use disk-images instead of the real floppy-drive. This would imho be an almost inbreakable way of emulating floppy-access on a hard-drive, unless the game itself switches the DRAM-mode off... Which, then again, the MicroCabin games may very well do...

IIRC there are only two programs being able to run Micro Cabin disk images from HD: FDE and HDDEMU.

hddemu does the trick, as long as you use the original game disks to create the images from. With quite some efforts I managed to run the English patched versions as well.
