A new Mohenjo Daro!

I tried to rework the drumtrack as you suggested... it's still a bit quick and dirty though

New comments/suggestions are welcome!

quite an improvement already.. but now we're talking critisism:

- Is it really MIDI? It sounds over-quantized. Try and shift a few notes or play something which is a bit out of line. Most of the time it improves the 'feel' of the music.

- The drumtrack improves in the end, but in the beginning it doesn't seem to 'fit in' with the rest of the music. I kinda like it when the drums more or less follow the music, e.g. by supporting the bass-line.

Nevertheless I really enjoy listening to this short preview. Nostalgia rulez!

*double post, help me out moderator*
{how about this, little fella?} -> thanx for deleting other post, however the CODE thing I tried didn't do the trick, as you can see.... sight

I LOVE U, haha.

Yep, can you feel it: It does 'swing' a bit more.

I've always loved the up-beat of bassdrums, gives it a jazzy kinda feel.
(you've used it here and there already)
what I'm talking about , eh..

check this simple pattern (if you repeat it, it rocks)

<TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font class="mrc-small">Code:</font><HR></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT class="mrc-small"><PRE>
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
H h H h H h H h
B B B B B B B B
s S s S
</PRE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE>
** since I can't use <pre> here, I'm kinda stucked on displaying it properly.
so, this kinda sux anyway... sight.

The UPPER characters are the ones played with an accent.
Notice the bassdrum giving a 'rolling' beat.
oh, the ghostnotes on the snare (the lower 's') is just to make it more
swinging. You could also insert ghosts on every 8th afterbeat.

nice going low!

Hahaha thx... you've shown me the light! I shall never neglect the drums again!
LOL

(I also used another drumkit as you probably already noticed)

Now I need to rework all those other Arranger Platinum songs... *sigh*... ahh well... it's for a good cause... the MSX cause!

don't F*** with SETH!

Yeah, the SNARE fits the song better now. (accoustic drums are ALWAYS good)

yo MRC dudes, a little bug:

when submitting a message with a CODE tag innit and then EDITING it again results in having pure HTML code in your message, so you have to get rid of that and put the CODE tags again... kinda sucky, kinda smelly anyway.

Already spotted it... will fix it soon. But since code tags should be improved a lot anyway and are barely used I will not fix it instantly. Working on other interesting MRC things atm.

I miss something in the tonal mid-range of the music. There's now musical activity in the low range and the high-range, but not in the mid range, this way, the 2 parts sound a little isolated from eachother. Except in the 0:15..0:30 part, and few other parts after this point, where there's enough adequate mid-area.

Further minor detail, in the 0:15..0:30 part, you use your pitchbend on the lead a little too ambitious. .. less=more.

all IMO ofcoz~
