First things first:
We're talking a few weeks before the fair here. I just found a Tilburg 94 preview, one month before the fair only 12 standholders were known. The list published on the MRC is not a final list (although I doubt there will be as many standholders and visitors as in '94. Would be nice, though ;P)
Second, there was some dissatisfaction about the organization of Tilburg this year. It resulted in a letter supported by nearly all standholders of the fair. It took a long time, but this letter is to be answered very soon. We'll get back on it as soon as possible. Any reactions on this topic are irrelevant. What is relevant, however, is that negative experiences on one fair might have a negative affect on other fairs as well.
Lets see what names I'm missing so far:
Deltasoft
MCWF
MSX NBNO
I think both Deltasoft and NBNO still need to sign up, I doubt MCWF will be there with a stand, as they didn't have a stand last year either. Bas was there as a visitor last year, though, and I'm pretty sure he will show up this year as well.
Finally, I'm afraid some of the standholders don't come to the fair because they don't think they will sell a lot of products. I for one think 'MSX fairs' and 'selling a lot' don't go together, especially when there are no new products to sell. However, the fairs have become increasingly important when it comes to socializing, showing new developments (like Meridian and Team Bomba), to get response from visitors on what you're doing with MSX etc. etc. etc.
Looking at previous fairs in Tilburg (expect 2003 perhaps), Oss (especially 2003!) and Bussum (the music quiz last year was excellent! ) I can only come to the conclusion things don't look so bad at all. |

I agree with Snout. Fair (or preferably call them MEETINGS) are more for fun, socialising and promoting!
We (the MAF) don't have anything to sell, yet we do have a booth there, just to have a place to stash our gear, set up some MSXes to let people play with them or try new tricks on them or just to show new stuff.. (If you have some nice thing to show on MSX or PC, but don't want to have a booth/stand, just contact me (maf@fixato.nl) and we will show it for you at our booth!)
And of course we bring 2 PCs to promote the forums and put on some live report.
And who else should come as boothholder? There are not many groups left in MSX-world. The (important) ones (except for MCWF, NBNO and DeltaSoft as Snout mentioned) are already there (like they are on each fair)
Also note there are booths of people that didn't come to Bussum wih a booth before. For instance MSX HCC GG. (IIRC)
so let's have fun at Bussum again like we always do ! |

My guess: - Delta Soft... Will probably be there with a booth. They have so much nice things to show and for sale and no doubt even more coming up.
- MCWF... I'm not sure whether or not Bas is going to be there with a booth. Last year he was more or less booth-sharing with Delta Soft.
- NBNO... It would surprise me if they wouldn't come at all and they'd probably be there with a booth as well.
Other groups I miss in this list? Ehrm... yeah, but the fair/meeting moved to a smaller location due to decrease of stand holders anyway. |

I think Zett is confused with the glory days when there were dozens of MSX groups all showing their newest crapware
Zett, why don't YOU have a booth? Show off your graphics and game ideas, maybe you'll find a programmer |

Never mind Ro Zett, it's his way to communicate: through humour
Anywayz, besides all things said I'd like to add two more things. Fixato talked about "all important people" who are already registered. But i'd like to disagree with that. As of the year 2003 EVERY SINGLE MSX fanatic is important to me. It's not about what someone does or has done. Heck if my neighbour suddenly starts to develop interest in MSX I happily encourage that. I think Fixato didn't mean it in that manner though, but I justed wanted to point that out.
Second, what do you mean so little people? I think that we, as a community, can talk of a success if all those people register booths to share their enthusiasm in some way in 2003! Ofcourse it would be cool if many more people would have something to share at a booth (even if it's enthusiasm only) but that will come, believe me! We have not yet seen the end! |

you're right, I shouldn't have said Important. It would've been better to use 'well-known'...
