A lot of people probably heard about Kazuhiko Nishi's publicity stunt to promote the MSX Computer. He spent $1 million dollars on a huge life-size model of a dinosaur. A quote taken from this article: "The promotion was a success - "everybody remembers that dinosaur," chuckles Nishi - but Chairman Bill missed the joke. The partnership was formally dissolved in 1986, when Microsoft set up its own Japanese software subsidiary."

It makes me wonder. Are there any pictures of this dinosaur?

I'm pretty sure I have a picture SOMEWHERE. But it could've been a MSX-Info too... :/
I have 9 Years of MSX-Info and 3 years of MSX-Fan magazines, so it'd be a really big number of pages to wade through to find it :

I think I'm missing the joke as well. Is it supposed to be some kind of analogy or...?

Bill Gates thought you shouldn't spend that much money on publicity stunts. (FYI: Xbox marketing: 500 million dollars ;P)

Of your magazines! I think the incident was around 1985/1986.

I totally forgot to mention: While in Japan Bernard Lamers showed me a small picture of the dino-event. I'll see if I can get it scanned
