The NMS8245 I recently aquired doesn't appear to have a good functional sound controller.
Whenever I hit a key on the keyboard or move a joystick or hit a joystick button the system gives a ticking like sound, no mather if it's loading something, or in Basic or in any game or program.
When I'm playing a game it doesn't make the sounds of the game.
I checked everything twice, I'm sure I connected it the right way (SCART) to my little TV.
Can anyone tell me what could be wrong and how I can fix it?

That is a setting of the msx.. Key klick.. don't know why it exists.. anyway.. goto basic and type " screen 0,,,,,0". and then set screen.

Ain't the solution

set screen :

according to the pocketguide msx2, it should adjust
screen, width, fore ground color, background color, border color, key on/off, key click on/off, printer, baudrate tape, screendisplay

but no example of what or how ? the value should be zero, set it would look like
set screen ,,,,,,0,,,

or by the screen command works almost the same but the it must be :

modus, format sprite, key click on/off, baudrate tape, printer
so it would like this
screen ,,0,,

Good luck trying

But keyclick doesn't click for joysticks, so that doesn't explain it. The original poster also says there is no sound in the games where there should be.

He should try this:
screen,,0:set screen
that will disable the keyclick and store it

then he should try this:
play"v15cdefgab"
that should play a tone scale.

If the clicks don't go away, and there's no scale being played, there's something wrong. somewhere.

Thanks a lot guys, but the problem still exists , even with the key clicks turned off all it does is clicking... But still, thanks a lot for your help.

Contact Hans Oranje, he does repairs... And pray the problem is not in the MSX-Engine or something but in a simple component.
