No, there are ofcourse also copies that one could have easily bought.. let's call them 'lazy copies'. But take the msx 80's.. Konami games are hyped, and everyone must play them. These carts were 60..80 guilders each.. how can you expect an 8..10yr old kid to get all these carts when the kid has 1,- pocketmoney each week, the usual combined 20,- for the 2-yearly school-papers, the usual b-day 30, and the anual sinterklaas/xmas cash? If the kid didn't spend it on a few small thingies, he could buy 1, maybe 2 carts each year..

This doesn't make copying legal ofcourse, but if you have these kids as your target-public (and imo young kids were the target public for the early Konami carts), you can't expect them to buy your whole collection, can't you? And I wonder if all parents are prepared to donate these games on a regular base (even if they can!).. perhaps they simply say: 'hey, you already have that MCM subscription, rather type those game-listings.. have fun with HAL and Pucky'

That's why kids invented 'nagging' in order to persuade their parents to buy the carts for them

Glad I was the one purchaz'n Salamander! (one of my very fave ones)

For me, Nemesis 2, hours and hours day by day

But I remember once... I hire F1 Spirit for 2 days on a videoclub, and I didn't stop to play it until I finished the whole game oh man... yes, I remember

Beside Nemesis2 and Maze of Galious, I spent lots of days with Shalom, even though I didn´t understand a word! (and I was close to finish it). Now the english version is available and I am a happy man...

Lot of games I played again and again but since I like most sport games I can say I must have played about 300 times Polar Star (imagine the tape loading time on a MSX1), did maybe a couple hundreds rounds of golf with Hole-in-One and Hole-in-One Pro, played about 2000 Ping-Pong games, won many many Tennis games and though Soccer was a shitty game, I did play quite a few of games on it as well.

Konami Billiards I also did play quite a lot - simple and addictive (even if primitive) - Boulder Dash II (almost finished all levels, some were really difficult) - Sorcery (I finished that one) - H.E.R.O. (my first game ever) and of course I must have spent (and still spend regurlarly time on it) hundreds of hours playing the all time best game ever in the videogaming industry:

so euh, you might put a walkthrought online somewhere? Now with the ENG version I, once again, tried to start up the game. I never liked the game that much, also b'coz of the lame textmenu etc. Maybe now I too could play it.. so, tried it. got kinda stucked/bored at the beginning of the game already.... I found the axe to cut the tree and cross the river.. thaz it. got bored already.

Well, with the game translated to english it's a piece of cake finishing the game, I've done it in a short time. However a walkthrough would be quite long to write, and I'm a bit lazy. I haven't found any guide to the game, but the solution to the most difficult part of the game (the 8th boss puzzle) is online somewhere. If you really want to play the game you'll have to spend many hours with it, and if you have specific questions guess I could answer them.

For help about Shalom, I recommand this Japanese site :

http://naramura.kdn.ne.jp/msx3/

With of course help of an online translator !

After the intro, click on "Game" !!!

You'll find maps and extended explanations about Shalom and other great games

This site can also be very interesting :

A candle is needed to enter those holes, you can get one from the old woman at the south of the castle. Use the option "to do " with her.

still I was looking for a quick way to save... could not get the disk save function working. I've inserted an empty disk, still it states having problems. And I'm not looking for another thousand-words-password to remember...
Any suggestions?

The version you are using has bugs and the saved games crash everytime. Try the version on this address.
