Currently there are 168 MSX.ORG users online and usually there are about 30 to 40 users online. But I don't get, if there are so much users online then why are there most of the time no new topics or replies at the MSX.ORG forum? Or do you guys just login and do something else all the time?

Why o why don't you add a chatbox to the site? That would be a great improvement!

hmmm.... a chatbox??!? probably won't help coz nobody will be using it anyways! Besides, for chatting we have stuff like the MSX irc channel on undernet or the ICQ list or so... Don't do a chatbox, just loads of work with no results (trust me, been there, done that)

If you look at most forums, then you will see that there are very few posters...

Probably because there are no interesting topics, or because people do not have the time to post.

If there are more topics, then people tend to be more willing to reply..

For instance, if I look at my MSX-forum (The MSX-Xpress & Affiliates Forum) I noticed that in the beginning, there were very few members and very few posts...So I posted some myself and invited other webmaster to become (Super-)Moderators and asked them to post some interesting stuff themselves...

They linked to my forum, which increased the traffic. Because there were more visitors, more topics were posted, and because more topics were posted, more visitors came, and so on...

So I would suggest to get some more volunteers to help on the forum and to post more interesting topics yourself..

But try not to steal too much of my visitors We got over 400 posts now so I think we are one of the largest MSX-forums on the web...

I believe one of the main reasons is that there are just very few dedicated msx users around... a shame, you know my position which I expressed some time ago on comp.sys.msx, I really believe the MSX is totally dead even if MSX Player comes out. As I said: "The MSX is dead, long live the MSX".

Unfortunatly I have to agree that MSX is dead! Although some people still don't want to hear that. Let us hope that the NEW MSX will become something great!
