Ngage fmsx installer error (!)

UnregisteredPosted: February 14 2004, 02:57
Hi,

I've the series 60 msx emulator, which is supposed to work with the ngage and its kin, but I keep getting an error
after cliking installation it says "application may not be compatible with device..." then after hitting 'yes' to continue it errors out saying "unable to install series60deviceid required".

is there any way to get around this (like maybe installing from the PC) or something? I haven't the bluetooth link yet, but only USB, which, when I click to install the file from, (the ngage appearing as an MMC drive) it always errors saying "device disconnected, please recconect and try again..." but the ngage is still connected and turned on.

Has anyone gotten fmsx for series 60 to work on an ngage, its listed on Ngage emulation sites everywhere...

umm so heres my attempt to post a link to what I'm talking about

The problem is that you are trying to install the b-version of the emulator and it requires Symbian OS 7.0s or newer (so far the only available Series 60 device compatible with that is the Nokia 6600). N-gage, however, only has Symbian OS 6.1 like Nokia's 7650 and 3650. Try the a-version of the emulator instead, it should work. Please note that the emulator icon may appear under "Media" folder on the N-gage.
