Aniverse, the network #msxdev is on is currently suffering from a huge DDoS attack, probably the same that made the (large) MIRCX network shut down completely. (See http://www.mircx.com/irc.html )

As a temporary backup, #msxdev is now on the Rizon network.

Please point your IRC clients to irc.eu.rizon.net (for europe) or irc.rizon.net.

Depending on user and operator feedback, #msxdev will either return to Aniverse or stay at Rizon.

Thanks

Typical... Ofcourse from the moment you set up a alternate location, the problems are solved ^^;

Everything seems fine for now, but in case of troubles, the rizon network will be our backup.

Ah, great info Arjan! Thanks for the link..

However, there are 12 people on Aniverse #msxdev right now, and it's been functioning for me ever since last night. Try some different ports...

I'm glad that everyone on #msxdev is so gay! EfNET is the home to #dcdev, #gbadev, #psxdev, #ps2dev, #gcdev, n64dev and #gp32dev. Poor folks, they don't have a true appreciation of life and art to realize how predictable it is to stay with established and reliable network...

And #msxdev? Wow! Fantastic! Everyone is amazingly fabulous and totaly gay! We wont bend to the voice of mind, we need excitement of a small unreliable anime and mastrubation oriented network!

Dance like you never did before, sisters!

Uhm dhau, I think this is not your decision. And really, not your place to comment on it in such a manner.

Aniverse *was* a nice and reliable network, until it got a major DDoS attack. FYI, there is little defense against such attacks (although Rizon likes to claim otherwise). The large and well-known DALnet IRC network has been down for weeks due to them. If someone decides to attack an IRC network for whichever reason, it *will* go down. I have seen it happen too often.

Just a few days ago someone was trying to DOS 2 Rizon servers with a 100mbit line, didn't cause a lag at all...

IMO EFNet sucks, and you, dhau, seem to embody the reason why perfectly.

Grow up.

Furthermore, all those channels are console dev channels.. I don't think any of the console ppl will be interested in MSX development, and neither are most MSX dev'ers interested in console development (with the small exception of GBA maybe)..

You might want to try visiting #msxdev before you make yourself even more ridiculous.
