Is this possible? (Metal Gear 2)

UnregisteredPosted: March 08 2004, 22:22
I'd like to play the classic MSX game Metal Gear 2 on my msx, I have the japanese version but because I don't understand Japense I'm going to play the translated rom version.
But because I really like to play that rom on the msx just for the retro feeling and stuff like that I'd like to put the rom on a disk or something like that and play it on my msx. Is this possible?
Is there a system or something like that so you can put the rom on a disk and play it on the msx? Also.. if you can play it on the msx.. the translated version I mean.. is there also the possibilty for saving savefiles to that disk?

There is also a disk version translated. But if you want the original felling I think the best option is to use a flash cart.

A flash cart is a piece of hardware with some megarom mapper support to load ROM images in. And a disk version of Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake might be availablie somewhere on the Internet.

@ Sonic_aka_T: I have the translated English rom of Metal Gear 2, it's just can I download a program so I can put the rom on a disk and by that software the MSX reads the rom as a normal game so I can play that rom on the msx itself?

You need to buy this piece of hardware on ebay or something like that?

Use the disk version to play it on a real MSX.

No, it's modern hardware for MSX, currently in production.
