Hello, my name is Francesco and I'm an italian collector, proud owner of three marvellous Philips MSX machines (one VG-8020 that was my birthday present back in 1985 and two Philips MSX2).

I came here to ask you a question. We all can see that there are lots of remakes of good 'ol videogames around (like Head over heels by Retrospec), but almost none of them was inspired by a MSX game.

So here's my question:

Back in 1985, one of my favourite games on MSX was a game called XYZOLOG, made by Taito. It was very simple but still very enjoyable.

So, Since that it was a quite simple game and that I have some knowledge of programming, I'd love to make a remake of that game by myself (I would code it in DarkBasic), but before starting I would like to know if there are someone else that likes this game, since I wouldn't have to code for months and have no-one that downloads the remake.

I love XYZOLOG! It is one of my favourite MSX games.

Of course, I would like to see a remake of this game. In fact, back in 1998 I started to code my own remake, using C and Allegro libraries. I used pre-rendered graphics with cool animations with POVRAY and POLYRAY light tracers. And it is really easy to code the engine.

Good luck coding!

Regards,

Ed Robsy

Boy, i've spend a lot of time playing Xyzolog! Argghh. Really a hell hard game! Costed me a lot of sleep! I would probably play your remake, if it's good enough.

Please check www.remakes.org also. There are a lot of remake fanatics there. I'm sure your finished game would be published there. There are also quite some people who can help you out probably. They have an extensive forum.
