.dsk to .rom, is possible ?

Thank you! Problem solved! But now I have found another issue. I have tried with those dsk images of compilations of classic games of a well known company in which some of them were adapted to use the SCC chip. The games run ok but SCC sound is not used, only PSG. My flashrom has SCC, and those games run with SCC if I use the standalone ROM versions of them (extracted from the disks). May be something with the slots ?

Edit myself: Using the disk does not work too. It should be that it was supposed to use the SCC+ version of the chip. So, everything is ok with dsk2rom!

Another difference between using the dsk2rom image and a real disk: when booting the real disk with CTRL pressed you get (at least in my computer) 24990 bytes free. With the dsk2rom image you get 24486 bytes. This seem to be a problem with some games

Compression requires a 512bytes buffer; if compression is disabled, more ram (more than a regular diskrom) will be available. Compression level 1 could be done without the buffer (though it isn't done that way in the current release).

I have tried without compression and it works flawless. I have created a dsk image (360 Kb) of some program that uses SCC but that required more memory than that available with compression. The uncompressed image works perfect with SCC sound.

Congratulations for such interesting program!!

what about games that require more than 1 disk.
Is it possible to build in a diskswitch option ??

some 2 disk games would easily fit in a 512kB cartridge,
(hydefosa.rom = 266kB)
(hydefosb.rom = 181kB)
(f1spi3d1.rom = 186kB)
(f1spi3d2.rom = 296kB)

other games could fit in a 1mB cartridge

I remember that manuel pasos' megaflashrom utilty opf.com,
has the possibility to store more than 1 game in rom, and gives the user
the option to choose which game to play.

could this be done for a game that requires 2 (or more) disks ?

It doesn't have my priority (don't think many games will fit, it won't support saving, and probably other media are more suitable for this).

However, it should be possible by checking some key in the dskio method, and Hydefos is a personal favourite
