I have a Sony videodigitizer , and I don't use this thing anymore, because, I don't get it out of my mouth, that #@$%pc does the same things better.
I like to exchange it with a thingy that I can use better, like a Moonsound or aZ380 board.
You can get it with
Japanese manual and a very usefull German translation of it.
The original disk and a backup of it.
The box, but the upperside is missing.
If someone is interest, I only exchange it on the fair in Tilburg

I'm interested, but I don't have the 2 things you mention to offer...

Well, how much money can I expect for a Sony videodigitizer? so I can buy a Moonsound or a Z380 board.

There's no clear way to say what the thing is worth... But note that a Z380 board is quite a lot more expensive than a 2nd hand Moonsound....

Well, I think it's because it's kind of an odd trade. You already mentioned it yourself, the old day's digitizers have little use except that they're collector's items. A trade with a moonsound is I guess fair enough, but not many people would want to get rid of theirs. A trade with a Z380 board is a bit too steep if you ask me.
I think you're better off selling it, but then no buyer is really gonna tell you what they're willing to give for the thing. And since the digitizer has little practical use in the days of $100 TV cards for your PC, it's a bit difficult to put a price-tag on it. From a practical point of view the thing's hardly worth $50. But since they're 'unique' (not that unique) collector's items I wouldn't sell mine (if I had one) for that price.
I guess you could sell it for around 100 euros, but don't take my word for it. Maybe you should just put it up for auction on e-bay (with a reserve) and see how much it fetches. Anyways, that's what I would do, I guess... Good luck.

A $100 PC TV-card still doesn't make your MSX capable of digitizing...

For me it's a kind of a dilemma.
This thing don't eat bread. but on the other hand, something I don't use, and no plans have to use it, I can easy rid of it.

I never would sell a complete Sony HBI-V1 digitizer for only 50 euros. For me the price of this cartridge (complete) ranges from 75 to 100 euros.
It costed 240 euros in Spain in 1991 (imported from Japan)...
And as far as I know it is the only MSX video digitizer that takes profit of the MSX2+/turboR color palette (well, there's also the ultra expensive GFX9000+Video9000 set...)
But probably I also wouldn't exchange my MoonSound for a Sony HBI-V1. The MoonSound is an excellent sound card with a lot of SW available for it.

Nor does an MSX digitizer, trust me, I've seen the results... Well, the 8280 wasn't half bad... |

Just put it on auction... Put a minimum price-tag of 75 euro's on it and see what happens. Make sure you give the auction enough time do, no three day auctions... I'm sure some collector will take it off your hands. What you need though, is two collectors that bid against each other
From a practical point of view no-one's gonna buy it though. That's also the problem with changing it for a Moonsound. Most people use it a lot. A digitizer you'd hardly, if ever, use. Maybe there's still some video fanatic out there that would want it... |

??
A Sony HBI-V1 looks pretty damn good in SC12!
And unlike a 8280, it dithers in SC8, so the quality is better...
Personally I swear by the digitization capabilities of my Video9000 ^_^ |

Which is my point exactly... Why buy an Opel if you can buy a Mercedes for less? The quality of a low-budget PC card far exceeds that of any old MSX digitizer. You too swear by your Video9000. Though your digitizer may be more expensive, when you're looking to digitize you're probably gonna look for the best result. Since most of us can probably afford a floppy disk, we'd prefer doing the digitizing, resampleing, artifact removal and any other effects on our PC's than on our MSX's in GraphSaurus. Copying the result to a floppy disk is little effort compared to trying to do the above on an MSX. Well, just my humble opinion... but for me digitizing on an MSX is like trying to create 3D images on it... Not worth the effort if you have a PC...
Ofcourse it was great in the good old days when the PC pretty much sucked, cost twice as much and a digitized would cost you $1000,- if you could even find one, but those days are long gone... Ofcourse it still makes a nice collector's item, but in my opinion that's about all...

Here starts, once again, the question "Why to use an MSX?"
Why to use a MoounSound when you can buy for less a 5.1 channels PC soundcard?
Why to play old games when the games for PC can use trillions of colours+3D effects?

Indeed, I was thinking the same thing. :/
Apparently Sonic_aka_T doesn't like MSX very much
<sarcasm>Hey, my PC mouse has more buttons, maybe I should sell my MSX mouse...</> |
