I´ve being suffering in silence the problem of no SCC in my MSX2 PHILIPS NMS8250 since I bought it long time ago. I´ve played Konami games such as NEMESIS 2, SALAMANDER, NEMESIS 3 and other that come with the SCC inside the cartridge. But... SCC no sound was heard from my MSX ever!
What the heck is going on? Does my MSX no support SCC? (don´t think, though). Someone can give me a why?
It´s sad because those Konami games have a wonderful music (I´ve heard it on emulators)

Hmm, on the motherboard of the 8250 you can make a few adjustments so that the mix PSG:SCC and PSG:MSX-MUSIC changes. I thought a 8250 had too loud SCC by default. Perhaps someone changed the settings without knowing what he was doing? I think you can find the information you need on Hans Otten's website (www.hansotten.com). Maybe Repair-Bas (Bas Kornalijnslijper) can say something about it as well...

Check pin 49 on the slotconnector. See if it's somehow intercepted or cut. This would also mean there would be no sound from the FM-PAC or other sound cards. If that's not the case, it would have to be some kind of mapper issue... Wouldn't know about that...

What title of SCC-cart do you have.
An SCC chip is not built in in the MSX.
Please check first the cart.
Maybe your copied game are not working correct.
The first cracked versions for 129 kB have totally no sound.
