I have two 256k MegaRAM cartidges, one it the normal one, the other is the MegaRAMdisk.
They both work fine alone, however, is there a way to use two as one, so I can load 512k games?
Thanks
David

Usually not... It really depends on the loader of the game. Unless the loader scans all the slots for memory and the maps accordingly, it won't be possible. You would have to write your own loader and then you would probably also have to look at the mapping routines in the game. I don't know of any games that require 512kB though. Well, maybe the cracked version of MG2... |

No, sorry. 512kb games require 512kb of ram in the same slot/subslot.
However most DDX MegaRAM-Disk cartridges can be expanded to 768kb by
adding ram chips on the board.

If your MegaRAM is the model that could be expanded ... I think that You could use the other RAM chip's to make a 512 KB MEGARAM.

Merging cartridges is to use the SCC sound chip.
You use two slots linked together to use a SCC sound cartridge and the
MEGARAM in the same Ademir slot expander.
Sometimes a raw binary file could be spliced in 8KB or 16KB blocks in
BSAVE/BLOAD format. This is intended for load software in real machines. There
are programs to merge those files into a single file. Not sure about programs to
change the memory address, could be possible to use a patch program.
I think that should be possible to make a patch for blocks in different memory
pages and slots ...
Some times it is required even for normal non mega bit software to run property in
different slots and sub-slots configurations of RAM.

It should be possible to re-map 3 mega-bit games to work in MSX2 (256KB MEGARAM ,128KBVRAM ,64 KB Main RAM) using a memory swap between the rest of the VRAM and RAM for MSX1 games that would not use the total amount of memory.
