Hi, about a year ago I got a SCSI controller with a large MSX auction. I don't really know what kind of controller is it. Please help identifying it.

tht.net/~aoboroc/msx/scsi-cart.jpg (~420KByte)
tht.net/~aoboroc/msx/scsi-chips.jpg (~460KByte)

Here is some more information that might help identify this SCSI:

16KByte SCSI BIOS dump: tht.net/~aoboroc/msx/scsi246.bin

In this file I can see following clear-text information:

SCSI VERSION 2.46 (C) 1992
MSX-DOS kernel version 2.20 Disk BASIC version 2.01
Copyright (C) 1989 ASCII Corporation

SCSI FD
1 - Enable partition
2 - Disable partition
3 - Write protect partition
1 - 720Kb (dubbel side)
2 - 1.44Mb (dubbel side)
3 - 2.88Mb (dubbel side)
4 - 360Kb (singel side)

I saw the picture and i recognized the "Leonardo Padial board pattern" (lot of horizontal lines)...
so i "googlized" and i found this:
http://perso.wanadoo.es/replay/scsi.htm

I think it is a Novaxis clone, but i am not sure at all.

Does anyone here use this adapter?
If it's Novaxis clone, where can I get some software for Novaxis?
How do I partition and format SCSI harddrive?
Does it support SCSI CD-ROM?

Thanks!

Try http://www.funet.fi/pub/msx/utils/harddisk/ for drivers. Maybe there's something there that'll work. I must say it looks more like something out of my appleII than a SCSI interface though

Can someone please dump rom from their Novaxis SCSI and post a link to it here?

I would like to use IDA Pro to see if their code is srikingly similar

Too bad there is not a single user on this board who uses LP SCSI controller in past

It doesn't look lite it's a novaxis clone, they use the WD33C93A scsi controller. This one doesn't.

Could it be a MegaSCSI clone?
Or Bart SCSI?
What other variations are available?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I guess your only option is asking padial...

People! I still need to find software to partition and format hard drive and a CDROM driver for Padial's SCSI controller Please help me with this...

Here is what I found on old Padial's page www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Tower/7418/padial/page1.htm (new page doesn't have anything about LPE SCSI):

Controller SCSI REF-51 allows to connect to the MSX any SCSI and SCSI II
compatible periferial (hard disks, CD-ROMs, ZIP and Magnetoptical drives,
Scanners...)

It incorporates internally MSXDOS2 operating system, 2.46 ROM and
built-in accelerator to gain the excellent benefits of these devices
from any modern MSX-2 computer

It supports up to 8 devices and comes with necessary software for quick
installation and usage from the very first day

... at least I have the latest greatest firmware Not that is solves all my problems...

2.46 is a well-known Novaxis version, IIRC...

I'll re-add some clickable smiles sooner or later

(lets focus on those SCSI interfaces, shall we?)
